Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Steven Kennedy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bea Mason!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kennedy displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.


It looks like Bea Mason has been cut.
Mason throws a low kick, looking for Kennedy's leg but Kennedy calmly moves out of range.
Mason tries to close the distance and clinch but Kennedy swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kennedy misses with a wild body shot.
Bea Mason seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mason uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kennedy.
Mason tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kennedy defends well and Mason ends up having to push Kennedy into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
It looked like Kennedy was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Mason.
Kennedy lands with a right hand.
Kennedy buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Kennedy tries to score with a low kick but Mason moves his leg out of the way.
Mason uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kennedy.

Mason feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kennedy is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Mason trying to control the position from guard on top but Kennedy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Kennedy looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kennedy wants to sweep here but Mason controlling him for the moment.
Mason wants to pass the guard but Kennedy is keeping the position.

Kennedy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mason doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Kennedy is tightening it up a little... Mason has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Mason reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Mason taps out! Nice BJJ there by Kennedy!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Steven Kennedy!
