Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick Tessier (ranked 3046 p4p, 308 weight class) and Kaine Krause (ranked 21301 p4p, 597 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Tessier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kaine Krause!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Vladimir Khabensky and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tessier shoots for a double leg takedown but Krause sprawls well. He's pushed Tessier's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Jab by Krause.
Krause moves out of range of the body kick.
Krause lands with an overhand left.
Krause connects with a solid leg kick.
Krause lands a jab to the head.
Krause connects with a solid leg kick.
A head kick misses from Tessier.
Tessier slips under a jab.
A punch combination from Tessier misses.

Tessier throws a leg kick but Krause sees it coming and checks it nicely.

It looks like Kaine Krause has been cut.

Tessier looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Tessier has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Krause wants to pass the guard but Tessier is defending well.
Tessier wants to improve his position but Krause is controlling well.

Krause really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tessier. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Krause told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Krause wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tessier keeps working.
Krause is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tessier manages to work his way to half guard, despite Krause's best efforts.

Tessier is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Krause is taking a breather. Tessier says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Tessier is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Krause's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Krause's back!

Tessier is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Krause defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Tessier is trying to stick to Krause's back but Krause is turning into Tessier. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Tessier's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Krause.

Tessier moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Krause engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Krause wants to control from the top but Tessier keeps moving.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Kaine Krause seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Tessier drives through with a takedown into Krause's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Tessier takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Tessier goes for a double leg but Krause avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Krause continues to drive forward.
Tessier tries to move into range but Krause moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Tessier digs a good body shot into Krause's ribs.
Tessier misses with a takedown attempt - Krause sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Some wild striking there from Krause.
Krause uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Kaine Krause comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Krause winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
