Boon has chosen Coming Home as his entrance music. Owin Boon has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Denver Sampson's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Denver Sampson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Owin Boon!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Nard Betker and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boon displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sampson.
Boon tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Sampson closes the distance and clinches up with Boon, looking for a takedown. Sampson pushes Boon against the cage but Boon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Boon looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Sampson went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Sampson shoots in and drives through. Boon sprawls well.
Boon drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Sampson defends it well.

Sampson tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Boon manages to circle out of the way.

Boon is looking to stand back up but Sampson counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Boon.
Sampson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Boon has hold of Sampson's hands but Sampson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Sampson lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Sampson stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Boon to get to his feet.

Sampson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sampson lands in his opponent's guard.

Boon is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Sampson presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Sampson content to slow the pace in the clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Sampson - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Sampson seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.
Boon wants to break free but Sampson has control.
Sampson is leaning against Boon and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Sampson effectively controlling the action here.

Come on Sampson - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Sampson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Sampson shoots in looking for a takedown but Boon manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Sampson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

and Boon counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Owin Boon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boon slaps away a takedown attempt from Sampson, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Sampson closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Boon's guard.

Sampson decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Sampson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Boon as he avoids it easily.

Sampson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Boon looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Boon is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Sampson decides to stand back up.

Sampson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Sampson postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Boon is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Denver Sampson dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Sampson is just content to waste time from the top position. Boon takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Boon has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Sampson seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Boon can turn it around.

Boon tries to close the distance and clinch but Sampson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Sampson feints and as Boon raises his hands in defense, Sampson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Sampson stands up and waves to Boon to follow him.

Boon wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Sampson manages to pass to side control.

Sampson postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Boon to stand up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Sampson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Boon sprawls well initially but Sampson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Boon wants to stand back up but Sampson manages to pass into side control.

Sampson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Boon knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Sampson stands up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Sampson moves into the clinch successfully.
Sampson is pushing Boon up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Sampson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sampson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

And that's the end of the fight!
Denver Sampson showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sampson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
