And in the blue corner, fighting out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 2 losses; Anthony Birchack!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Leandro Rodrigues and Seu Braga.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.

Johnson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Birchack on his heels. He'll look to pass Birchack's guard now, I'm sure.

Birchack has his foot on Johnson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Johnson works his way back into a safe position though.

Birchack really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Birchack can do anything to dispel that myth.

Johnson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Birchack, who protects the arm well.

Birchack tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Johnson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The fighters are battling for position here. Birchack manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Johnson drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Johnson seems to have locked his on tight now - Birchack screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Johnson, as he picks up the win!
