Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Morgan Oneal! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Samuel Stove! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Eliza Hachem and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stove forces Oneal back against the cage and clinches. Stove looking for a takedown. Stove looking for a takedown. Stove tries to land a knee to the head but Oneal blocks with his arms.
Stove pulls Oneal into guard.
Stove isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Oneal stacks Stove on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Oneal! Oneal working away. Oneal lands an elbow. Stove gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Oneal scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Oneal knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Stove on the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Oneal seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Stove trying to control from the bottom.
Stove is trying to stand up here but Oneal is controlling him well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stove trying to control from the bottom.
Stove wants to get back to full guard. Oneal looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Stove with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Stove trying to control but Oneal postures up.
Stove scores with a few weak punches. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Oneal connects with a nice short shot to Stove's temple. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stove is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Stove lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage. Oneal working Stove over with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stove moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Stove looking to control.
Oneal postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Stove looking for a triangle here. Oneal is fighting it but it looks tight! Stove pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Oneal is tapping out - this one is all over!
