The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rakovich walks into a left hand. HC really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Rakovich throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around HC's waist but HC gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rakovich off to one side. Good standup being displayed there by HC as he connects with a hook. Rakovich throws an off balance right hand
and HC counters with a three punch combo that has Rakovich backing up. Rakovich nods at HC to acknowledge the strikes. Rakovich misses with a takedown attempt and HC makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Filip Rakovich seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rakovich closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rakovich performing his best blanket impression for a moment. HC trying to control from the bottom.
HC knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rakovich on the ground. Rakovich is looking for a kimura but HC is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Rakovich to get the leverage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rakovich thows a huge punch but HC dodges it nicely.
Rakovich trying to mount his opponent but HC defends it. Rakovich keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Rakovich thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Rakovich stalling.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Rakovich is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! HC is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Filip Rakovich!
