The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romanov sizes up Matthews with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Matthews avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Romanov connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Alexander Matthews seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Romanov shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Matthews rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Romanov moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Matthews lands a left and a right that sends Romanov crashing to the canvas! Matthews dives into mount looking to finish!
