Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sao Alela (ranked 3288 p4p, 319 weight class) and Larry Haggus (ranked 4720 p4p, 415 weight class). Alela kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Ground Zero (MOP). Larry Haggus is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Larry Haggus!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Atkins and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haggus takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Alela closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Haggus tries to pull guard but Alela forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Alela lands an uppercut.
Haggus wants a takedown but no success here.
Alela misses with a short punch on the inside.
Haggus tries to throw a body punch but Alela avoids it by throwing Haggus back against the cage.
Alela manages to break the clinch.
Haggus swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Alela throwing a counter right hand but Haggus manages to avoid it.
Haggus wants to clinch but Alela slips to the side
and Alela counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Alela tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Haggus manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Haggus smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Alela sizes up Haggus with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Alela has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

and Haggus takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Haggus wants to clinch up but Alela keeps it at a distance.
Larry Haggus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Alela moves out of range as Haggus strikes.

Alela doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Haggus tries to close the distance and clinch but Alela swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

enabling Alela to counter with a crisp jab.

Haggus dives in and grabs Alela's left leg, looking for a takedown. Alela pushes down on Haggus's head and hops out.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Alela feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Hagguss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Haggus changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Alela tries to avoid it but Haggus manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Alela to the ground. Alela escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Alela clinches with his opponent.
Haggus looking to stall.
Alela lands a nice uppercut.
Haggus misses with a hook to the ribs.
Alela lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Alela slows down the pace here.
A head punch on the inside from Alela fails to land.
Alela escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Haggus shoots for a double leg takedown but Alela sprawls well. He's pushed Haggus's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Alela clinches up with Haggus and pushes him back against the cage.

Haggus tries to clinch there but Alela circles away.
It looked like Alela wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Haggus tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Alela was well out of range. Poor timing from Haggus.
Haggus throws a body punch but Alela moves out of range.
Haggus is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Alela rather than just go for the knockout.
Haggus looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Haggus tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

A looping hook to the body misses from Haggus. Alela does a little dance to reset his feet.
Haggus shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Alela sprawls well. Alela wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Haggus gets slowly back to his feet.

Haggus shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Alela pinned against the cage. Alela gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Alela gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Alela presses Haggus against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Haggus tries to work over Alela's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Alela makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Haggus wants to take the fight to the mat but Alela manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
