Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Keven Spacey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Master Roshi! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roshi throws a big shot that misses. Spacey moves away from the strike by Roshi. Roshi misses with a hook. Roshi throws the left hand but Spacey avoids the punch easily. Roshi scores with a decent looking hook. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Roshi lands a really nice looking cross but Spacey seems unphased.
Roshi connects with a good right hand that stumbles Spacey. Spacey circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Spacey slips under a jab from Roshi.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spacey takes one to the side of the head.
Master Roshi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Spacey looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. A cross from Roshi lands. Spacey takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Roshi is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Roshi connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Spacey avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Jab by Roshi.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Roshi misses with a straight right. Spacey walks into a straight right hand from Roshi. Roshi looks to land a right hand but Spacey moved out of range. Roshi scores with the left hand. Spacey knows he should have avoided that one. Roshi has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Spacey is landing a low percentage of strikes. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Spacey ducks under a wild hook from Roshi. Spacey attempts a counter takedown but Roshi avoids it well and moves away. Roshi lands a jab to the nose. Good standup being displayed there by Roshi as he connects with a hook.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roshi swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Spacey attempts a counter takedown but Roshi avoids it well and moves away. Spacey walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Roshi fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Spacey on the side of the head. Nice shot lands for Roshi. A swing and a miss from Roshi. Spacey feinted with a counter takedown. Roshi lands a nice shot that snaps Spacey's head back.
Roshi throws a jab when Spacey was well out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Spacey moves out of range of the strikes. Roshi is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Spacey had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Roshi throws out a loose jab but Spacey uses good head movement to avoid it. Spacey feinted with a counter takedown. Roshi darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Spacey on the wrong end of a nice hook. Roshi might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Spacey takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Roshi with a hook. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Master Roshi dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Roshi throws a hook to the side of Spacey's head but Spacey sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Roshi throws a hook but Spacey blocks it. Spacey tries to counter with a takedown but Roshi is quick to defend against it. A telegraphed right hand from Roshi misses the target. Roshi bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Spacey's head. Roshi is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Roshi throws a hook to the side of Spacey's head but Spacey sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Master Roshi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Roshi scores with a jab to the head.
Master Roshi seems to be getting the better of the standup. Nice uppercut there from Roshi.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice defenses there by Spacey. Spacey changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
