Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lyon Furoshus (ranked 3532 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Briggs (ranked 6623 p4p, 0 weight class). Briggs has chosen Redbone as his entrance music. Randy Briggs is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lyon Furoshus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Randy Briggs! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Jonathan Paton and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Briggs misses with a jab, cross combination.
Briggs has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Furoshus cracks Briggs with an open hand slap. Furoshus could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Briggs throws a right hand that Furoshus ducks under and follows up with a left that Furoshus also avoids with ease. Briggs thuds his right hand into Furoshus's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Briggs just misses with a punch to the body.
Furoshus throwing a counter right hand but Briggs manages to avoid it. Briggs is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Furoshus. Furoshus scores with a sloppy right hand. Briggs should have avoided that one. Briggs shoots in for a takedown and gets it. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Briggs wants to free his trapped foot but Furoshus is holding on for dear life with his legs. Briggs really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Furoshus. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Furoshus is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Briggs's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Briggs's back! Furoshus has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Briggs has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
That's one minute gone in the round. Furoshus controlling the position well here. Briggs rolled but Furoshus kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Furoshus looking for the choke but no joy. Briggs has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Furoshus is looking for a choke. Briggs gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Briggs manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Furoshus has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Briggs postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Furoshus keeping moving, preventing Briggs from controlling successfully. Briggs decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Briggs misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Furoshus.
Briggs pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Furoshus uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Briggs. Briggs throws an overhand right that lands on Furoshus's shoulder, as Furoshus tries to avoid the shot. Furoshus feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Briggss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Briggs misses with a double jab.
A combination from Briggs does no damage. Furoshus uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Briggs.
Furoshus dips to his left and cracks Briggs with an uppercut! Briggs on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Furoshus connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Briggs's hands.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A punch combination from Briggs misses. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Briggs just misses with a punch to the body.
Furoshus is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Furoshus connects with the punch. Furoshus avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Briggs closes the distance and clinches. Briggs slows down the pace here.
Furoshus breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. A left lands for Furoshus. Good shot there by Furoshus. Furoshus is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Furoshus shoots in for a takedown but Briggs shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Briggs looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Briggs misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Furoshus counters with a stiff right hand. Briggs drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Randy Briggs will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Briggs wants to slow Furoshus down by chopping away at his legs. Furoshus half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Randy Briggs is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Furoshus scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Furoshus fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Briggs misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Furoshus connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Briggs momentarily.
Briggs swings away with a body shot that misses
and Furoshus counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Furoshus looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Briggs! Furoshus looking to control but instead Briggs has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Briggs is trying to stand back up but Furoshus is controlling him
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Furoshus is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Briggs sees it coming and defends easily. Furoshus is looking for a kimura but Briggs is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Furoshus to get the leverage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Furoshus is working for a kimura but Briggs is defending it quite comfortably.
Well, if Furoshus is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Furoshus uses his free foot to push down on Briggs's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Briggs. Furoshus goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Briggs turns into him and now he's in Furoshus's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Briggs trying to control the position from guard on top but Furoshus is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Furoshus is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Briggs throws a big elbow that misses. Furoshus is trying to control the position but Briggs postures up. Briggs must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Furoshus keeping moving, preventing Briggs from controlling successfully. Furoshus working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Briggs doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Briggs manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Furoshus is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Briggs stands up and waves to Furoshus to follow him. Briggs throws a looping overhand right but Furoshus ducks down to avoid it. Furoshus showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Briggs.
Furoshus slips under a jab from Briggs. Briggs displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Furoshus. Furoshus is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Furoshus appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Furoshus swats away the attempt to clinch by Briggs. Briggs swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Furoshus darts in looking for a takedown but Briggs gets double underhooks and turns Furoshus into the cage. Furoshus keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Briggs walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Furoshus digs a good hook to Briggs's body.
Briggs throws a series of punches but Furoshus avoids them all with ease. Furoshus ducks under a wild hook from Briggs. Furoshus swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Briggs is breathing heavily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Furoshus lands a lovely overhand right. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lyon Furoshus dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Briggs scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Briggs scores with punches from side control. Furoshus defending against the ground and pound. Furoshus is positioning himself to get back to half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Furoshus is working hard here to advance position. Furoshus is trying to control Briggs's posture but Briggs avoids it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Briggs scoring with punches and elbows. Briggs happy to just control the position for now. Furoshus wants to control but Briggs postures up. Briggs decides to take the fight back to the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Briggs has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Furoshus finds it's way round the side to connect with Briggs's head. Briggs looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Briggs is looking to clinch. An attempted straight right counter from Furoshus misses the target. Nice shot by Furoshus. Briggs swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Furoshus lands with a straight right. Briggs didn't see that one coming. Furoshus jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Briggs lands a nice hook to Furoshus's body. Furoshus takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Furoshus throws the left hand but Briggs avoids the punch easily. As Furoshus backs off Briggs throws a huge counter combo but Furoshus manages to avoid it all. Briggs closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Furoshus tries to pull guard but Briggs forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Furoshus pressing his opponent against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Briggs manages to break the clinch.
Briggs misses with a hook. Furoshus ducked under it nicely. Furoshus drops down looking for a counter takedown but Briggs sprawls and moves away. Briggs throws a body punch but Furoshus moves out of range. Briggs closes the distance and clinches. Furoshus breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Briggs buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Furoshus lands with a nice body punch. Briggs shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Furoshus manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Furoshus working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Briggs doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Briggs manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Briggs has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Furoshus is proving hard to escape from. Furoshus trying to control the position.
Furoshus is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Briggs is aware though and is defending well. Furoshus working for a triangle but Briggs defends it easily.

And that's the end of the fight! Randy Briggs comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Briggs has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
