Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hudson Walker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Reggie Hutchinson! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Walker shoots in and gets a takedown into Hutchinson's guard. Hutchinson manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Hutchinson is looking to take this one to the mat. Walker misses with a punch on the inside.
Walker has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Walker has Hutchinson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Hutchinson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Hutchinson tries to pull guard but Walker won't allow it.
Walker is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Hutchinson is defending well. Walker is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Hutchinson has Walker pressed against the cage.
Hutchinson decides to pull guard. Walker missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Hutchinson pulls Walker in close to prevent any damage. Walker missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hutchinson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Walker's guard.
Hutchinson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hutchinson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Walker tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hutchinson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Hutchinson won't allow Walker to sweep him here. Walker is trying to control the position but Hutchinson postures up. Walker can't keep his opponent in guard - Hutchinson advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Hutchinson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Walker has managed to free his arm - good work. Walker wants to improve his position but Hutchinson is controlling well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hutchinson wants to work for an arm triangle but Walker is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Hutchinson seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Walker is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
