Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Zachary Hurst (ranked 7765 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Taylor (ranked 5328 p4p, 0 weight class). Taylor has chosen grip and ride as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Zachary Hurst!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Taylor!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Richard Clark and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Taylor drives through with a takedown into guard.

Hurst throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Hurst might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Hurst is looking for a triangle but Taylor pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hurst controls Taylor momentarily but Taylor frees himself.
Taylor throwing strikes from guard but Hurst blocks nicely.
Hurst utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Taylor must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Hurst looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Hurst wants to sweep here but Taylor controlling him for the moment.

Taylor stands up and waves to Hurst to follow him.

Taylor decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Taylor is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Hurst is defending against the submission attempts here by Taylor.
Hurst has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Taylor is working away from the top position though.
Taylor looks to land a strike but Hurst avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Taylor avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Taylor misses with a few strikes there.
Hurst checks a low kick from Taylor.
Taylor misses with a jab, cross combination.
Hurst was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Hurst throws a push kick but Taylor slaps the foot to one side.
Taylor wants to clinch.

Taylor feints and as Hurst raises his hands in defense, Taylor changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Taylor throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Hurst is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Taylor wants to get up but he can't break Hurst's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Hurst had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Taylor defends it easily.
Taylor is looking to work some ground and pound but Hurst has wrist control.

Hurst gets caught napping as Taylor dives in and scores a takedown. Hurst manages to retain guard.

Hurst wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Taylor, who protects the arm well.

Taylor manages to work his way to half guard, despite Hurst's best efforts.
Taylor is positioning himself well to prevent Hurst advancing to mount.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Taylor shoots in and bounces Hurst off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Taylor throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hurst works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Taylor throws a strike but Hurst rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Taylor has his hands on Hurst's head, controlling the position.

Taylor working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hurst doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hurst manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Taylor is trying to control the position but Hurst postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Jack Taylor will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Taylor has had enough of the clinch but Hurst keeps him there for the moment.

Hurst could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Hurst holds on and takes a little breather.

Taylor postures up in Hurst's guard and throws a big left but Hurst blocks it.

Hurst is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Taylor is aware though and is defending well.

Taylor decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Taylor stuns Hurst with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Hurst throws the left hand but Taylor avoids the punch easily.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Taylor wants to get up but he can't break Hurst's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Taylor gets to his feet - Hurst follows without any prompting.
Hurst takes one on the button.

Hurst tries to sprawl but Taylor drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Taylor stands up and beckons Hurst to join him on the feet.
Taylor throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Zachary Hurst is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Taylor avoids a kick to the body.

Taylor gets tackled into the cage by Hurst. Hurst maintains the clinch.
Taylor's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
A frustrated look appears on Taylor's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Hurst jumps guard and drags Taylor to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Taylor wants to control from the top but Hurst keeps moving.
Hurst utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Taylor looking to sit in guard and control but Hurst gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Hurst postures up in Taylor's guard and throws a big left but Taylor blocks it.
Taylor is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Taylor looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Taylor not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Hurst throws a big right hand that misses.
Taylor working a defensive guard here.
Hurst throws an elbow that misses. Taylor uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hurst's guard. Nice move by Taylor!

Taylor wanted to stand there but Hurst had control of the position.
Zachary Hurst has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jack Taylor is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Taylor got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hurst has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Taylor has managed to get both his arms back between Hurst's legs - danger averted.
