Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hugo Pittman (ranked 7864 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Henriksen (ranked 6819 p4p, 0 weight class). Mike Henriksen told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hugo Pittman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mike Henriksen! The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Darius Henderson and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No joy there for Henriksen, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
It looked like Pittman wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Henriksen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Pittman throws a right and a left that Henriksen avoids nicely. Nice takedown defense from Pittman. No joy for Henriksen on that attempt. Pittman changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Henriksen pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Pittman appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Henriksen gets in close and instigates a clinch. Henriksen managing to block the knees to the body from Pittman.

Pittman is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Henriksen can't fight it off and eventually Pittman manages to take the fight to the floor. Henriksen looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Henriksen pushes Pittman off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Pittman fails with a takedown attempt. Pittman darts in and clinches Henriksen up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Henriksen has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Pittman uses from the top position. Henriksen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pittman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pittman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Henriksen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pittman manages to get himself to full guard.
Henriksen postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Pittman wants to stand and escape but Henriksen is having none of it. Henriksen trying to control but Pittman is working from the bottom. Henriksen must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Pittman throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Henriksen with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Henriksen wants to control from the top but Pittman keeps moving. Pittman has his foot on Henriksen's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Henriksen works his way back into a safe position though. Henriksen stops Pittman from standing up. Henriksen is working Pittman over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Pittman keeping full guard, as Henriksen tries to pass. Henriksen stands and throws Pittman's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Henriksen working the ground and pound. Henriksen goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Pittman has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Henriksen but great work by Pittman. Henriksen is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Henriksen is trying to get back to full guard. Henriksen keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Henriksen has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Pittman is on him like a limpet, forcing Henriksen back against the cage. Henriksen pulls Pittman into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Henriksen pushes Pittman off and scrambles back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Pittman closes the distance and pushes Henriksen back into the cage. Pittman tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Henriksen smiles and moves away.
Henriksen dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Pittman. That did some damage! Pittman moves out of range as Henriksen throws a body kick.
Henriksen gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Henriksen taking a breather. Henriksen breaks from the clinch.
Henriksen pushes Pittman up against the cage in a clinch. Henriksen is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mike Henriksen dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Pittman. Henriksen closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Henriksen pulls guard successfully.
Pittman throwing strikes but missing. Henriksen looking for subs off his back but Pittman has passed one foot through into half guard.
Pittman working Henriksen over with strikes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Henriksen has a hand on Pittman's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Pittman takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
That's one minute gone in the round. Henriksen tries to get back to half guard but can't. Henriksen is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Henriksen manages to regain half guard. Good work. Pittman sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Henriksen defending well though. Pittman not doing much here.
Henriksen is trying to stand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Pittman is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Henriksen is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Hugo Pittman!
