Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kronos Gracie (ranked 2009 p4p, 91 weight class) and Luna Atari (ranked 6075 p4p, 209 weight class). Gracie comes to the cage accompanied by https://youtu.be/X3-H5jGoags. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Luna Atari enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kronos Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Luna Atari!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Atkins and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Gracie gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Atari connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
No luck for Gracie with that takedown attempt.
Atari now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

Gracie shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Atari manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gracie passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Atari looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Gracie will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Atari is looking for a sweep.
Atari can't do much from the bottom here.

Gracie looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Gracie tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gracie has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Atari is trying to escape the position but Gracie is controlling the position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Gracie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Atari keeps working.
Atari tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie controls the position.

Gracie thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Gracie just content to control the position.
Atari is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Atari struggling a bit here.
Atari tries to buck Gracie off but Gracie is having none of it.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Gracie is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Atari has escaped the position, nice work there.
Atari can't do much from the bottom here.
Atari is looking to reverse the position.
Gracie is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Atari's shoulder. That is not cool.

Atari tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Gracie wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Gracie is trying to get an arm triangle but Atari is defending well.

The strikes coming from Gracie are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kronos Gracie dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Gracie swings and misses with a shot to the body
letting Atari counter with a right hand.
Luna Atari has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Gracie shoots in but no luck this time.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Atari! But no joy.
Gracie throws a head kick that misses
enabling Atari to counter with a crisp jab.
Gracie throws a leg kick
and Atari counters with a stiff right hand.
Gracie shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Atari pinned against the cage. Atari gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Atari! But no joy.

That's one minute gone in the round.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Atari napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Gracie working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Atari manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Atari wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gracie keeps working.
Atari is thwarting Gracie's attempts to control the position.

Atari is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Gracie has managed to free his arm - good work.
Gracie wants to improve his position but Atari is controlling well.

Atari is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Gracie as he works his way to full guard.
Atari controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Atari trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom.
Gracie wants to sweep but no luck.
Kronos Gracie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Gracie is working hard here to advance position.
Atari is fighting to break Gracie's control of his arms but Gracie is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Gracie is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Gracie is looking for a triangle but Atari pushes his legs off easily.

Gracie is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Atari is aware though and is defending well.
Gracie is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Gracie has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Atari can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A close second round but Luna Atari will probably get the nod - 10:9.

You can see the frustration on Atari's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Atari is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Gracie in particular looking to stall.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Atari gets back to full guard.

Atari has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Gracie is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Atari.

Gracie content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Gracie is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Atari knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Gracie is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Atari looks calm but he's in trouble here. Gracie gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Atari is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Gracie lets go of the hold and Atari can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:34 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Kronos Gracie!
Jumping up and down and very excited, Kronos Gracie waved his t-shirt featuring HELLBENT's logo in front of the cameras.
