Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Lott (ranked 6027 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cooper James (ranked 5436 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Carlos Lott! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cooper James! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Nard Betker and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lott throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and James makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. James closes the distance and clinches up with Lott, looking for a takedown. James pushes Lott against the cage but Lott circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. James looking for a takedown here - he's got it. James takes a decent strike to the side of the head. Lott has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. James wants to control from the top but Lott keeps moving. Lott throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lott had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. James defends it easily. James stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lott swivels though and keeps the full guard. James trying to control the position from guard on top but Lott is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. James looking to sit in guard and control but Lott gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Lott decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. A telegraphed takedown attempt from James is defended easily by Lott. James is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lott sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Carlos Lott has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cooper James. James shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Lott manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Lott might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lott wants to stand and escape but James is having none of it. Lott tries to strike from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. James stands up from Lott's guard - James perhaps looking for a knockout. James closes the distance and clinches up with Lott, looking for a takedown. James pushes Lott against the cage but Lott circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. James gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Lott is standing up over James. James looks to escape but Lott dives into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! James tries to buck Lott off but Lott is having none of it. Lott landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Lott is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, James has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lott stands up and we're back to a striking position. James thows a leg kick but Lott checks it and Lott counters with a three punch combo that has James backing up. James nods at Lott to acknowledge the strikes. James fails with an attempt to clinch.
Lott throws a right hand that James ducks under and follows up with a left that James also avoids with ease. James darts in looking for a takedown but Lott gets double underhooks and turns James into the cage. James looks for a takedown but Lott sprawls well. James looks winded! James tries to clinch up but Lott circles away and keeps his distance. Lott swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
That's four minutes gone in the round. James doesn't manage to clinch there - Lott circles away.
Lott throws a big counter combination but James scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Cooper James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from James. Lott gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. James breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. James shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Lott is trying to defend but James finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Lott throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

James throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Lott could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. James shoots and misses and Lott counters with a body kick. James fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Lott was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. James tries for a takedown but Lott sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Lott quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect. James shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lott as he jumps to the side. Carlos Lott has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cooper James. James gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Carlos Lott is winning the standup battle so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lott drives through with a takedown into guard. James is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. James wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Lott is now in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. James wants to get back to full guard. Lott is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Lott is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for James! James is wriggling around trying to escape.

That's two minutes gone in the round. James shoots in but doesn't get the takedown letting Lott counter with a right hand. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Lott. Lott decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Lott takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. James looking for submissions off his back. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lott stands up out of the half guard. Lott throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lott decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Lott moves nicely into side control. Lott tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lott has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Lott stands up. James dives in and grabs Lott's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lott pushes down on James's head and hops out. Lott decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Lott seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Lott is looking for a kimura but James is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lott to get the leverage. James wants to get back to full guard but Lott has mounted him! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. James connects with a crisp jab. James looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Carlos Lott has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. Lott tries to stand and escape but James is controlling the position. Lott stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows James to get to his feet. James tries to clinch but fails miserably enabling Lott to counter with a crisp jab. Lott avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
