The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lott throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and James makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
James closes the distance and clinches up with Lott, looking for a takedown. James pushes Lott against the cage but Lott circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Lott has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Lott throws a right hand that James ducks under and follows up with a left that James also avoids with ease.
James darts in looking for a takedown but Lott gets double underhooks and turns James into the cage.
