Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ali Striker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aladin Carpet!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Valeri Chadov and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carpet scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Striker can't do much from the bottom here.

Carpet tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Striker is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Carpet's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Striker actively working from the bottom here.
Carpet has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Carpet is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Striker is surviving well by controlling Carpet's body position as best he can.

Striker is desperately trying to improve his position but Carpet has a good base and remains in mount.
Striker has given up his back here.

Carpet looking to finish the fight with a rear naked choke. Striker is controlling Carpet 's left arm and he spins nicely into guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Striker has gone for a leg lock! Carpet slips out almost immediately though and dives into Striker's guard.
Striker not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Carpet stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Striker swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Striker wants to sweep but no luck.
Carpet looking to pass the guard.
Carpet slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Carpet is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Striker has escaped the position, nice work there.
Carpet wants to control but Striker is keeping him busy.
Striker can't do much from the bottom here.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Striker ducks under a wild hook from Carpet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Striker fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Carpet sprawls well initially but Striker persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Carpet is looking for a sweep. Striker is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Striker stalling away here and it's allowed Carpet to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Carpet is looking for a triangle but Striker pushes his legs off easily.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Carpet has his foot on Striker's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Striker works his way back into a safe position though.

Striker drops back, looking for a kneebar! Carpet looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Carpet looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Carpet!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aladin Carpet dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Carpet tries a head kick but it misses.
Ali Striker is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carpet lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Striker at a distance.
Striker doesn't succeed with the takedown

so Carpet counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Carpet tries to free his leg and advance position but Striker is retaining full guard.
Carpet stands and throws Striker's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carpet is looking to take a break and control but Striker is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Carpet remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Carpet wants to lay and pray for a moment but Striker keeps working.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Striker is trying to control Carpet's posture but Carpet avoids it.
Carpet trying to control the action but Striker is working from the bottom.
Striker tries to buck Carpet off but Carpet is having none of it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Carpet scores with a head kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Carpet misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Carpet does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Striker circles away from the clinch attempt.

Striker looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Carpet throws his legs up looking for a submission but Striker uses it to pass to side control.
Carpet can't do much from the bottom here.
Carpet is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Striker's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Carpet is looking to control Striker's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Carpet avoid being mounted?
Carpet gets full guard.
Striker controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aladin Carpet showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!



Striker shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Striker goes for an armbar but Carpet turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Carpet.
Carpet is looking to stand up but Striker won't let him.
Carpet passes Striker's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Striker is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Carpet passes the guard and advances to mount!
Striker tries to control Carpet's body but Carpet pushes him off. Striker squirms to his side and now Carpet has his back!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Carpet working for the choke.

Carpet has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Striker is defending well but eventually Carpet manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Striker has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Aladin Carpet!
