Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mauricio Roberson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Fabrizio Rossi!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Tarja Halkonen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roberson fails to land with a series of punches.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Rossi.
Roberson bucks up and tries to throw Rossi off but instead Rossi has got his back!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Roberson is really stuck here.

Rossi has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Roberson has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Rossi drops down looking for an ankle pick but Roberson pulls his leg out and moves away.

Rossi has Roberson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Roberson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Rossi seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Roberson holds on and takes a little breather.
Roberson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Roberson thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Rossi got a little sloppy there for a moment and Roberson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rossi has managed to get both his arms back between Roberson's legs - danger averted.
Roberson wants to stand and escape but Rossi is having none of it.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Rossi fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Roberson avoids it really well and circles away.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Roberson looks up at the clock and then as Rossi takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Roberson smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looked like Roberson wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

and Rossi counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Rossi.

Roberson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rossi controls the pace.

Rossi closes this distance looking for a takedown but Roberson circles away.

Rossi takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Well Roberson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
