Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Walcott (ranked 1422 p4p, 212 weight class) and Rodney Garcia (ranked 2234 p4p, 319 weight class). Walcott comes to the cage accompanied by The Way Of The Fist. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Walcott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 33 - 23 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rodney Garcia!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walcott keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Garcia throws an overhand right that lands on Walcott's shoulder, as Walcott tries to avoid the shot.
Rodney Garcia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Garcia lands a really nice looking cross but Walcott seems unphased.
The fight stays on the outside here - Walcott looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Garcia works over Walcott's head and body with a nice combination.


It looks like Joe Walcott has been cut.

Walcott closes the distance and pushes Garcia back into the cage.

Walcott swings wildly with an uppercut but Garcia uses good head movement to avoid it.

Garcia breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Walcott definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Garcia is looking to break free of the clinch but Walcott has double underhooks.

Walcott throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Garcias head.
Garcia goes for a takedown attempt but Walcott pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Walcott gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Garcia.
Walcott tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Garcia is trying to break free.

Garcia's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Walcott fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Garcia has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Garcia cracks Walcott with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Walcott sends Garcia crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Walcott is motioning to the referee to let Garcia up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Garcia has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Walcott after a bit of a struggle.

and Walcott finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

Walcott avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Garcia.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Walcott wants to control but Garcia is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Walcott takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Walcott tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Garcia wants to take a breather but Walcott manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Garcia.
Walcott bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Garcia's guard.


Garcia is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Walcott is fighting to break Garcia's control of his arms but Garcia is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Walcott wants to control from the top but Garcia keeps moving.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Garcia has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Walcott can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Garcia closes the distance and clinches up with Walcott, looking for a takedown. Garcia pushes Walcott against the cage but Walcott circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

And Garcia tries to counter it with a takedown but Walcott pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Walcott displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Garcia throws out the jab.
Nice uppercut lands for Garcia. That snapped Walcott's head back.
Garcia takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

And that's the end of the fight!
Rodney Garcia comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Walcott has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
