Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paynuss Chonus (ranked 813 p4p, 125 weight class) and Don Johns (ranked 3659 p4p, 459 weight class). Chonus comes to the cage accompanied by Reverend Paynus. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Don Johns was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paynuss Chonus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Don Johns!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chonus jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Johns looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Chonus misses with a jab, cross combination.
Chonus swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Johns takes one to the chin there.
Chonus throws a right hand that Johns ducks under and follows up with a left that Johns also avoids with ease.
Johns is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Chonus's jab looks to have found its range, popping Johns under the eye.
Chonus misses with a left hand
letting Johns counter with a right hand.
Chonus tries to keep at a distance but Johns has taken the fight into the clinch.
Johns lands a shoulder strike.
Johns manages to pull guard.
Chonus has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Johns is proving hard to escape from.
Johns is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Johns connects with a nice short shot to Chonus's temple.
Chonus pushes Johns off looking to stand but Johns dives back in and keeps control.
Johns working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Johns has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Johns tries to pass to full mount but Chonus defends it.
Chonus slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Johns cracks Chonus with a solid left hand.
Johns is working Chonus over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Johns postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Johns accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Chonus wants to stand up but Johns is controlling him.
Chonus is trying to keep Johns in close.
Chonus wants to get back to his feet but Johns is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Johns with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Johns landing some decent shots from guard.
Chonus is rocked!
It looks like Paynuss Chonus has been cut.
Chonus wants to sweep but no luck.
Chonus wants to stand up but Johns is controlling him.
Johns working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Oh Chonus is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Johns arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Chonus's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Don Johns!
