Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ed Burt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Burt has chosen No Worse Human as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcus Rogers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ed Burt! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Dean Styles and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rogers pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rogers tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Burt was well out of range. Poor timing from Rogers. Burt lunges at Rogers with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Rogers's hand. Rogers throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Burt.
It looks like Ed Burt has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rogers avoids a punch combination nicely.
Burt swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Burt misses with a low kick.
Rogers dodges the punch combination from Burt.
Rogers with a body punch. A glancing blow. The crowd cheers as Rogers lands an impressive looking overhand right. Burt doesn't seem phased though. Rogers shoots in and drives through. Burt sprawls well. A head kick misses from Burt. Rogers moves away from the strike by Burt. Burt drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Rogers lands with a shot to the body. Burt looks gassed! Rogers catches Burt with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Burt showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Rogers.
Nice body punch from Rogers. Rogers cracks Burt with a big right hand and Burt goes down! Rogers passes Burt's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burt is defending against the submission attempts here by Rogers.
Rogers performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Rogers wants to lay and pray for a moment but Burt keeps working. Burt is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Rogers scores with a couple of nice shots. Burt is staying active underneath Rogers, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Burt taking some punishment here, with Rogers in his half guard. Burt is defending against the submission attempts here by Rogers.
Burt is doing well to control the position and prevent Rogers from advancing to side control. Burt tries to get to full guard but Rogers has control of the leg. Rogers takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Rogers is looking to take a break and control but Burt is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Rogers missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Burt gets full guard. Burt working a defensive guard here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burt preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Burt throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Rogers wants to pass the guard but Burt is keeping the position. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Burt is on top in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rogers keeping moving, preventing Burt from controlling successfully. Burt won't allow Rogers to sweep him here. Rogers being controlled here, momentarily. Rogers has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Burt trying to control but Rogers is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Rogers looking to control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Rogers misses the jab. Rogers throws a hook but Burt blocks it. Rogers throws a shot from downtown. Burt moves away and avoids it. Burt misses with the combination.
Rogers throws a head kick but Burt moves out of range.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Burt takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Rogers shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Burt is looking to stand up but Rogers isn't so interested in that idea. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcus Rogers dominated that round. The cut man is working on Ed Burt's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Burt pushing out the jab but it's not landing. A combination from Burt does no damage. Jab from Rogers. Burt waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Rogers. Burt closes the distance and clinches. Burt takes an elbow to the forehead. Rogers avoids the elbow strike from Burt, against the cage.
Rogers is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Burt pulls him back up using the underhooks. A short right hand to the side of the head by Burt. Rogers throws a punch but it's blocked by Burt. Burt makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Rogers wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Burt lands an elbow inside. Burt lands on the inside with an uppercut. Burt lands a right hand. Rogers takes an elbow to the forehead. Rogers throws a head punch that misses. Rogers is working for takedown but Burt is calmly controlling the position for now. Burt fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Burt misses with a short punch on the inside. Rogers breaks from the clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Rogers shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Burt pinned against the cage. Burt gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcus Rogers. That's going to take a lot out of him. Burt falls off balance throwing a combination
and Rogers counters with a one-two to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burt jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Marcus Rogers is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Rogers throws a head kick that misses. Burt misses with a few strikes there.
Burt feints and then cracks Rogers's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Rogers down. Burt buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Burt dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Rogers. That did some damage! Burt lands with a right hand. Marcus Rogers is winning the standup battle so far. Burt throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
It looks like Marcus Rogers has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Burt scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Burt lands a glancing blow to the side of Rogers's head. Rogers gets a takedown into half guard. Burt wants to control but Rogers is keeping busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rogers missing with the ground and pound from half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Well, if Rogers is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Burt trying to control but Rogers postures up.
Rogers not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Rogers is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Burt has managed to free his arm - good work. Rogers is keen to just control but Burt is a slippery customer. Burt looks like he's trying to stand up.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Burt misses with a double jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burt lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Burt will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Rogers moves out of range of the body kick. Rogers misses with an uppercut. A chopping leg kick lands by Burt. Burt works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Rogers walks into a left hand. Burt lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Rogers backs up against the cage.
Burt connects with a right hand. Rogers shakes it off. Burt connects with a nice looking jab.
Rogers on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. This has been an exciting period of action! Rogers motions for Burt to come forward. Rogers throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Burt thumps Rogers with a low kick. Burt looks to land a combination but Rogers avoids it well. Burt looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. A lazy left from Rogers finds it's target. Burt uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Rogers.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rogers takes a body punch but keeps moving. Burt avoids the head kick by Rogers.
Marcus Rogers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Burt has Rogers up against the cage in a clinch.
Rogers scores with an uppercut up the middle. Burt lands a damaging elbow. Burt lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Burt misses with a short punch on the inside. Burt breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rogers shoots in but no luck this time. Burt fails with an attempt to clinch.

Burt takes a shot right to the bread basket. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Burt throws a series of punches but Rogers avoids them all with ease. Burt closes the distance and lands a one-two. Rogers throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Burt misses with a low kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ed Burt showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's time! Rogers's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Rogers fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Rogers shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Burt as he avoids it easily. Burt scores with a push kick. Rogers closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Burt moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. An inside leg kick lands from Burt. Rogers is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Burt throws a sloppy head kick and Rogers counters with a straight right hand. Rogers keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Rogers on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Burt. Burt obviously looking to wear him down.
Burt walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Rogers checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Danga de danga de dang - Burt scores with a four punch combination! Burt misses with a head kick.
Good exchange - Rogers coming out on top. Rogers takes one to the chin there. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Rogers misses with a body kick. Rogers throws a hook to the side of Burt's head but Burt sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Burt throws a series of punches but Rogers avoids them all with ease.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burt stuffs the takedown attempt from Rogers. Rogers gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcus Rogers. That's going to take a lot out of him. Burt lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Burt. Rogers misses with a few strikes there.

and Rogers counters with a lovely straight right hand! Burt on the wrong end of a nice hook. Burt listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Burt scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Rogers looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Burt motions for Rogers to come forward. Burt throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Rogers throws a head kick that misses and Burt counters with a stiff right hand. Burt throws a right and a left that Rogers avoids nicely. Burt ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Rogers fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Burt cracks the inside of Rogers's front leg. Burt throws a right hand that Rogers ducks under and follows up with a left that Rogers also avoids with ease. Rogers throws a right and a left that both miss. Rogers gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Burt looks to land a combination. Rogers sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Rogers feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Burt is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Rogers controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Burt keeping full guard, as Rogers tries to pass. Rogers trying to control the position from guard on top but Burt is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burt is trying to control the position but Rogers postures up. Burt might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Rogers kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Burt is controlling Rogers's posture. Burt utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Burt darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Rogers lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Rogers scores with a nice strike. Burt throws a sloppy head kick and Rogers moves out of range easily. Rogers uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Burt has time to react. Rogers slips a jab from Burt. Rogers connects with the punch. Rogers missing with a left hand there. Burt was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Burt throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Rogers swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Burt counters with a stiff right hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rogers slips a jab from Burt. Burt throws a leg kick but Rogers moved away. Donk. Burt catches Rogers right on the button with a cross. Burt with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Burt stuffs the takedown. Burt finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Burt throws a series of punches but Rogers moves out of range. Rogers fails with a takedown attempt. Rogers checks a low kick from Burt. Rogers bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Burt's head. Rogers works the jab nicely. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Burt misses with a straight left. Burt blocks a low kick nicely. Rogers stuns Burt with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Burt throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
And that's the end of the fight! Ed Burt comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Burt has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
