Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bomb Com (ranked 41 p4p, 5 weight class) and Jeremy Sullivan (ranked 304 p4p, 45 weight class). Com's entrance music is Bombs Away. A fine choice. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
20 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bomb Com! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
31 - 19 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeremy Sullivan! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sullivan checks a leg kick. Sullivan with a lazy takedown attempt and Com counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Sullivan uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Com. Com's corner calls for a 1-2. Com obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
It looks like Jeremy Sullivan has been cut. Some wild striking there from Com.

Com throws a hook but Sullivan blocks it. Com swats away the attempt to clinch by Sullivan. Com appears to be looking for a big counter.

Sullivan takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Com misses with a looping left. Com lands with a nice body punch. Some wild striking there from Com.
Sullivan has a takedown stuffed. Com tried to counter with a leg kick but Sullivan avoided it. Sullivan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Com but Com pushes him off and we're back to square one. Bomb Com has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeremy Sullivan.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sullivan doesn't succeed with the takedown letting Com counter with a right hand. Bomb Com is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Com moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Sullivan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Com sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sullivan somewhat. Com with a jab. Sullivan tries to clinch but Com is having none of it. Com swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sullivan tries to move into range but Com moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Sullivan takes one to the chin there. Com throws a leg kick but Sullivan checks it. Sullivan tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Com swinging wildly here.
Com connects with a body shot that sends Sullivan's belly button to the back. Com connects with a solid leg kick. A slow jab from Com misses its intended target. A slow jab from Com misses its intended target.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Com throws a leg kick which misses Sullivan's front leg but catches the back leg as Sullivan tries to avoid it. Com scores with a hook. Sullivan uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Com. It looks like Com has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him. Com is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Com connects with a right hand. Sullivan shakes it off.
That has opened up Jeremy Sullivan's cut even more. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Com throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Com stuns Sullivan with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Sullivan tries to clinch up but Com circles away and keeps his distance. Sullivan tries for a takedown but Com circles away easily and Com counters with a right hand to the body. Sullivan looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bomb Com dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jeremy Sullivan's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Com just misses with a punch to the body.
Oooooh!!! Com has knocked Sullivan down with a huge combo! Com steps away and waves a wobbly Sullivan back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Sullivan is rocked! Sullivan takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Sullivan is still on wobbly legs! Can Com finish him? Com jabs at Sullivan's body. Com cracks Sullivan with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Sullivan looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Com finish him?
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sullivan blocks a jab. Com throws a head kick that misses. Bomb Com is winning the standup battle so far. Sullivan shoots for a double leg takedown but Com sprawls well. He's pushed Sullivan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Com throws a right and a left that Sullivan avoids nicely. Sullivan seems to have recovered his senses. Com gets caught flat footed, as Sullivan shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Com is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Com wants to sweep here but Sullivan controlling him for the moment. Sullivan stands and throws Com's legs to the side, diving into side control. Sullivan wants to take a breather but Com manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Sullivan. Com is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Com is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Sullivan is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Com looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sullivan is one step ahead there. Sullivan is stalling in the full guard. Sullivan wants to pass the guard but Com is keeping the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sullivan wants to control from the top but Com keeps moving. Com is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Sullivan regains full guard. Nicely done. Sullivan is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Com has his hands clasped together but Sullivan extends and breaks Com's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Sullivan.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jeremy Sullivan! Jeremy Sullivan is the new welterweight champion! Jeremy Sullivan decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
