The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gruber lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Ways backs up against the cage.
Sloppy strikes from Gruber. Those never looked like landing.
A head kick by Gruber misses
and Ways counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Ways is standing up over Gruber. Gruber looks to escape but Ways dives into side control.
Gruber knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ways on the ground.
Gruber wants to control but Ways postures up.
Gruber tries to buck Ways off but Ways is having none of it.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Ways slips into full mount, dodging the strikes by Gruber.

Ways quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Ways but it's paid off an Gruber is forced to tap! Nice work by Ways.
