Coming up we have a super heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Michael Blake (ranked 4467 p4p, 179 weight class) and Aloysius Martin Thesz (ranked 3732 p4p, 154 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Blake gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. Thesz is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Blake is just riding it out for now. Thesz eventually gives up the hold. Thesz is looking for a kimura here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Thesz wants to advance to full mount but Blake doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Thesz trying to control but Blake is working from the bottom. Thesz tries to free his leg and advance position but Blake is retaining full guard. Thesz passes into half guard. Blake is refusing to be controlled, as Thesz sits in half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Thesz is looking for a kimura but Blake is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Thesz to get the leverage. Blake won't allow Thesz to pass to mount. Thesz pulls Blake in close to prevent any damage.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Blake won't allow Thesz to sweep him here. Thesz looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Blake puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Thesz wants to control but Blake passes into side.

That's seven minutes gone in the round. Thesz is still trying to improve position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Thesz is just holding on here. Blake manages to take his back.

Thesz wants to control his opponent's hands but Blake gets his hands free. I really don't envy Thesz right now.

That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Blake stops Thesz from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. Thesz goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Blake is on top in guard.

Blake is fighting to break Thesz's control of his arms but Thesz is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Thesz is trying to control the position but Blake postures up.

Blake looking to sit in guard and control but Thesz gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Blake stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Thesz swivels though and keeps the full guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round.
