Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hollis Ford (ranked 23845 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roy Dakuta (ranked 5371 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hollis Ford! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Roy Dakuta! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Colin Fray and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ford gets caught napping as Dakuta dives in and scores a takedown. Ford manages to retain guard. Ford had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dakuta defends it easily. Dakuta drops back looking for a leg! Ford is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ford manages to kick Dakuta off! Dakuta jumps back into Ford's guard. Dakuta sitting in guard, not really doing much. Ford is trying to keep Dakuta in close.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dakuta looking to pass the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dakuta prevents Ford from getting back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ford throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Dakuta tries to free his leg and advance position but Ford is retaining full guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Dakuta fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ford, pushing him back against the cage. Ford being controlled against the cage. Dakuta gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Ford regains guard.
Ford is looking to stand back up but Dakuta counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Ford. Ford wants to control but Dakuta is keeping busy and won't allow it. Ford is trying to stand up here but Dakuta is controlling him well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dakuta is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Dakuta tries to pass to full mount but Ford defends it. Ford kicks off Dakuta and gets to his feet. Dakuta closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Ford's guard. Ford manages to escape and get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ford tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Dakuta tries to counter by closing the distance. Dakuta is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Ford's half guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Dakuta controlling the action here. Ford trying to control but Dakuta postures up.
Ford really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Dakuta is taking a breather. Ford says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dakuta works his way into side control. Ford is trying to get back to his feet. Dakuta takes a little break here. Ford wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. The strikes coming from Dakuta are missing the target in this wave of attacks. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Dakuta happy to just control the position for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Roy Dakuta will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Ford manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Dakuta is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Dakuta advances to half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dakuta sitting and controlling from the half guard. Roy Dakuta has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ford won't allow Dakuta to pass to mount. Still in half guard, Dakuta seems content to control. Ford looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Dakuta throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Ford keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Dakuta escapes and gets back to his feet. Dakuta has closed the distance and engaged Ford in a clinch.
Dakuta has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Ford uses from the top position. Dakuta bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ford's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dakuta's corner is telling him to maintain position. Ford is trying to keep Dakuta in close.
Dakuta wants to control from the top but Ford keeps moving. Dakuta postures up in Ford's guard and throws a big left but Ford blocks it. Dakuta seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Dakuta advances to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dakuta is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ford is just riding it out for now. Dakuta eventually gives up the hold. Well, if Dakuta is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Ford tries to kick Dakuta off but Dakuta keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Dakuta perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Dakuta passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Ford! Dakuta lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Ford hang on? Ford avoids a series of strikes thrown by Dakuta.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Dakuta wants to take Ford's back but he can't do it this time. Dakuta is standing up, even though he is in mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roy Dakuta showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Ford dives in for a single leg takedown but Dakuta sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Dakuta is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Dakuta shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Dakuta gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Sloppy strikes from Dakuta. Those never looked like landing. Dakuta looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Ford throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

That's one minute gone in the round. Ford kicks off Dakuta and gets to his feet. Dakuta drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Ford wants to get back to his feet but Dakuta passes into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Dakuta sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Ford defending well though. Dakuta is looking to take a break and control but Ford is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Ford holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Dakuta is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ford doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Dakuta. Dakuta uses his free foot to push down on Ford's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Ford.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dakuta fails to advance to Ford's back. Ford is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Ford wants to get back to his feet.
Dakuta throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Dakuta shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ford napping and manages to drive through into side control! Dakuta stands up and beckons Ford to his feet. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Ford tries for a takedown but Dakuta circles away easily and Dakuta holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Ford is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Dakuta to keep the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hollis Ford. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dakuta breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Dakuta looks for the body kick but Ford saw that one coming. Dakuta pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dakuta has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A momentary lapse in concentration from Ford enables Dakuta to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ford manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Dakuta stands up from guard. Let's bang! Hollis Ford has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Roy Dakuta is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Ford tries to sprawl but Dakuta drives through with a takedown into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Roy Dakuta comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Dakuta has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
