Well, if Rawse is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Rawse seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Velasquez for as long as he can get away with.
Velasquez is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Rawse scores with a couple of nice shots.
Rawse is controlling the pace.

Rawse has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rawse working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Rawse in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Velasquez tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Rawse!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Rick Rawse!
