PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quinton Farmer (ranked 20879 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Change (ranked 7555 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Quinton Farmer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bobby Change!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Change closes the distance and pushes Farmer back into the cage.
Farmer tries to pull guard but Change won't allow it.

Farmer breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Change clinches with his opponent.
Farmer has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Change avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Change tries a body shot but Farmer blocks it.
Farmer jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Change walks away with a smile on his face. Farmer gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Quinton Farmer. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Change clinches up against the cage.

Change pulls guard successfully.

Farmer stands up and waves to Change to follow him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Farmer pulls out of a head kick attempt.
No joy there for Change, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Change scores with a hook to the body. Farmer takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Change scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Change decides to stand up, so the ref orders Farmer to his feet.

Change closes the distance and clinches.
Change tries to break the clinch but Farmer is controlling the position.
Farmer fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Change lands a left hand.
Farmer's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Farmer tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Change just stands there and leans against the cage.
Farmer keeps control of Change as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Farmer is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Change throws an elbow but it's blocked.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Farmer is trying to pull guard but Change has him pressed against the cage.

Farmer has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Change uses from the top position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Change decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Farmer, up you get!
Farmer is breathing heavily.

Change forces Farmer back against the cage and clinches.
Change digs a right hand into Farmer's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Farmer's gas tank.
Farmer fails to pull guard.
Change can't break the clinch.

Change jumps guard and drags Farmer to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Change is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Change really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Farmer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Change working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Farmer has passed into half guard!

Change wants to get back to full guard but Farmer has mounted him!

Change tries to improve his position but Farmer has taken his back! Farmer has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Change tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Farmer pushes Change away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
