Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Christian Baier (ranked 2543 p4p, 124 weight class) and Rodrigo Gracie (ranked 2195 p4p, 109 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Christian Baier has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Christian Baier seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Christian Baier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rodrigo Gracie! The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice straight punches there by Baier. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Baier. Baier throws a lazy uppercut
and Gracie counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Baier tries to roll over but Gracie keeps him under control. Gracie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Baier keeps working. Gracie is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Baier is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Gracie is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie is pressing down on Baier's thigh, looking to free his foot. Baier is holding on for now. Gracie is looking to take a break and control but Baier is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Gracie is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Baier keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Gracie is looking for a kimura here.
Baier is not content to let Gracie control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Baier is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Gracie's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Gracie's back! Gracie wants to escape the position but for the time being he's just trying to control the pace. Baier not allowing Gracie to control his hands. Gracie is trying to break free.
Gracie tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Gracie is in all sorts of trouble here.
Gracie is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Baier wants to finish this one by submission but Gracie is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Baier. Gracie bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Baier looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Gracie drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Baier dives on top into guard.
Baier got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gracie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Baier has managed to get both his arms back between Gracie's legs - danger averted. Gracie is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Baier looking to pass the guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Gracie trying to pass the guard but Baier defending well. Baier wants to control but Gracie is keeping busy and won't allow it. Baier is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Gracie is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Baier works his way to full guard. Good work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rodrigo Gracie dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Baier throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
And Gracie tries to counter it with a takedown but Baier pushes his down on his head and steps out. Baier misses the jab. Baier takes a swing at Gracie's ribcage but misses. Gracie is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Gracie looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Baier is trying to control but can't.
Gracie thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Baier wants to get back to full guard. Gracie tries to pass the half guard into mount. Baier knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gracie looks to land a strike but Baier avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Gracie looking to sit in guard and control but Baier gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Gracie is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Baier looking to pass the guard. Gracie looking to hit a scissor sweep but Baier is one step ahead there. Gracie has a closed guard, preventing Baier from standing up. Gracie working a defensive guard but Baier manages to pass into side control anyway.
Baier tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Baier has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Gracie regains half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Baier looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Gracie moves into full guard.
Gracie is trying to control the position but Baier postures up. Baier won't allow Gracie to sweep him here. Baier stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gracie swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gracie tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Baier pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gracie is keeping the position for now. Gracie has his foot on Baier's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Baier works his way back into a safe position though. That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie struggling a bit here. Baier looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Gracie is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Baier working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Baier tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Baier has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Christian Baier will probably get the nod. That's time! Baier's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Baier wants to work for an arm triangle but Gracie is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Baier prevents Gracie from improving his position. Gracie is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Baier pulls his head out easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Baier stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gracie swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gracie controlling Baier's posture.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Baier throws the left hand but Gracie avoids the punch easily. Gracie staying out of range there. Gracie drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Baier defends it well. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Baier throws a poor cross that misses
and Gracie counters with a nice double leg into side control. Baier won't be happy with that. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Baier taking punishment in the form of punches.
And that's the end of the fight! Rodrigo Gracie comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Gracie has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
