Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cameron Castaneda (ranked 8213 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mayer Trodjan (ranked 5384 p4p, 460 weight class). Mayer Trodjan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Cameron Castaneda! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mayer Trodjan! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Viktor Lagutenko and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Trodjan drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Trodjan taking a breather here. Trodjan tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Castaneda struggling a bit here. Castaneda is trying to improve his position. Trodjan is putting a hurting on Castaneda here, landing some big shots from side control. Castaneda is not content to let Trodjan control the position. Trodjan prevents Castaneda from escaping the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Trodjan lands a decent elbow from side control. Castaneda is looking to regain half guard here but Trodjan keeps moving and retains side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Trodjan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Castaneda keeps working. Trodjan is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Castaneda has escaped the position, nice work there. Trodjan wants to control but Castaneda is keeping him busy. Trodjan decides to stand back up. Trodjan gets in close and instigates a clinch. Trodjan has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Castaneda clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Castaneda staying busy and making it hard for Trodjan to control. Trodjan is trying to stick to Castaneda's back but Castaneda is turning into Trodjan. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Trodjan's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Castaneda. Castaneda chips away with some ground and pound. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Trodjan can do anything to dispel that myth.

Castaneda throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Castaneda stands up over Trodjan, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Trodjan is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Castaneda is aware though and is defending well. Castaneda will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Castaneda won't allow Trodjan to get back to his feet. Castaneda throws an elbow that misses. Trodjan uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Castaneda's guard. Nice move by Trodjan!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Castaneda working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Trodjan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Trodjan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Castaneda is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Trodjan defends well. Castaneda striking off his back but it's not causing Trodjan any problems.

Trodjan drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Trodjan jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Castaneda is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Trodjan is aware though and is defending well. Castaneda looking for a sweep. Not yet Castaneda, not yet. Trodjan stays in close to Castaneda's body and controls the position. Castaneda escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Trodjan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Castaneda looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Trodjan tries to free his leg and advance position but Castaneda is retaining full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Trodjan controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Castaneda looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Trodjan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Castaneda has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Trodjan has managed to get both his arms back between Castaneda's legs - danger averted. Castaneda is breathing heavily. Castaneda trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Trodjan trying to control but Castaneda is working from the bottom. Trodjan lands a couple of elbows. Castaneda really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Trodjan postures up and lands a big shot to Castaneda's brow. Castaneda had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Trodjan defends it easily. Trodjan pushes down on Castaneda's leg and manages to get into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Mayer Trodjan will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
An inside leg kick lands from Trodjan. Trodjan misses with a takedown attempt - Castaneda sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Castaneda is looking for a counter combo. Trodjan tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Castaneda manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Trodjan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Castaneda tries to avoid it but Trodjan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Castaneda to the ground. Castaneda escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Castaneda appears to be looking for a big counter. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Castaneda avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Trodjan tries to land a front kick but Castaneda steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Castaneda wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Trodjan fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Castaneda to the ground. Trodjan is now in Castaneda's guard. Castaneda looking for a guillotine here but Trodjan defends easily.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Castaneda is on top in guard.
Castaneda postures up and lands a big shot to Trodjan's brow. Castaneda won't allow Trodjan to sweep him here. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Castaneda accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Trodjan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Castaneda is one step ahead there. Cameron Castaneda overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Castaneda throwing strikes from guard but Trodjan blocks nicely.

Castaneda works over Trodjan with some ground and pound from guard. Castaneda content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Castaneda lands a couple of digs. Trodjan darts in looking for a takedown but Castaneda gets double underhooks and turns Trodjan into the cage. As Trodjan tries to get set, Castaneda tries to push him back and clinch up but Trodjan manages to avoid the attempt. Trodjan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Trodjan fails with a takedown attempt. Cameron Castaneda is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Castaneda gets a clinch. Castaneda is trying to force a seperation but Trodjan has the dominant position. Castaneda manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Trodjan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Castaneda working for a triangle but Trodjan defends it easily.
Trodjan wanted to stand there but Castaneda had control of the position. Castaneda is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Trodjan is controlling him.
