Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Francis Decker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Triace Ribert! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Daniel Bishop and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Decker stuffs the takedown attempt from Ribert. Ribert gets slowly back to his feet. Decker throws a big counter combination but Ribert scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Decker fails to land with a series of punches.
Ribert is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Decker misses with a kick to the body and Ribert counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ribert. Ribert thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Decker might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Decker trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Decker is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Decker knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ribert on the ground. Ribert thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ribert drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ribert jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Ribert drops back looking for a leg! Decker is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Decker manages to kick Ribert off! Ribert jumps back into Decker's guard. Decker wants to get back to his feet but Ribert is in a dominant position and won't allow it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ribert trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Ribert is pushing down on Decker's leg trying to pass to half guard. Decker is fighting to maintain full guard but Ribert has managed to sneak the leg through. Ribert in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Decker tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Ribert!
