Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sven Hensen (ranked 3160 p4p, 0 weight class) and Russell Wallace (ranked 4927 p4p, 0 weight class). Hensen comes to the cage accompanied by Soul Coughing - Super Bon Bon. Wallace is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Dust in the Wind. Russell Wallace has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sven Hensen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Russell Wallace!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wallace finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Wallace tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hensen swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Hensen shoots for a takedown but Wallace saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

and Hensen counters with a single leg into guard. Wallace didn't expect that.

Hensen is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Wallace defends it well.

Hensen escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wallace gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Wallace lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Let's hope that Wallace has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Hensen has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Wallace is working away from the top position though.
Hensen works his way to full guard. Good work.

Hensen goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Wallace tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Russell Wallace seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Wallace takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Wallace. Hensen shrugs it off though.

Wallace lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hensen circles away quickly and effectively.
Hensen moves out of range as Wallace strikes.
Hensen attempts a counter takedown but Wallace avoids it well and moves away.
A head kick misses from Hensen.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Wallace shoots in looking for a takedown. Hensen tries to sprawl out of it but Wallace keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hensen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Sven Hensen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Russell Wallace.

Wallace has Hensen up against the cage in a clinch.
Wallace has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hensen is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Hensen drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Wallace dives on top into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hensen has his feet on Wallace's thighs here. He's pushed Wallace off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Wallace screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

Sven Hensen very nearly forgot to thank Dauntless amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
