PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Janusz Tracz (ranked 22470 p4p, 0 weight class) and Skap Hazard (ranked 3174 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Hazard's choice of entrance music: Fight Hazard Fight. Skap Hazard will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Janusz Tracz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Skap Hazard!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, David Schapiro and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tracz throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hazard sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Hazard looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Hazard looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Tracz lunges at Hazard with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Hazard's hand.


It looks like Skap Hazard has been cut.
Tracz is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Tracz scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Hazard doesn't seem bothered though.
Tracz throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A little jabbing left from Hazard on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Tracz shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hazard pinned against the cage. Hazard gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A jab from Tracz finds it's way through Hazard's defenses.
Tracz scores with a nice strike.

Tracz fails with a takedown attempt.
The crowd cheers as Tracz lands an impressive looking overhand right. Hazard doesn't seem phased though.
Tracz misses with a hook.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Hazard! But no joy.

Tracz darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Hazard avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Tracz.
Tracz is taking a breather. Hazard says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tracz tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hazard knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Tracz not doing much here.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Tracz shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hazard napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Hazard throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Hazard avoids the body shot from Tracz.
Hazard takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Tracz misses with a double jab.
Tracz has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Tracz there as he acknowledges the shot.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Tracz throws a shot from downtown. Hazard moves away and avoids it.
Hazard throws out a counter right but Tracz avoids it with no problem.

Tracz moves out of range as Hazard strikes.
Tracz is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Hazard moves out of range of the strikes.
Tracz staying out of range there.
Hazard takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
A telegraphed right hand from Tracz misses the target.
We've been informed that Hazard has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Tracz fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hazard sprawls well initially but Tracz persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Tracz slows the pace down in half guard.
Tracz wants to pass to mount but Hazard is defending the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hazard's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Tracz tries to clinch there but Hazard circles away.
Tracz throws a hook to the side of Hazard's head but Hazard sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Tracz has his takedown stuffed
enabling Hazard to counter with a crisp jab.

Tracz drives through with a takedown into Hazard's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Hazard is breathing heavily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tracz is stalling in the full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tracz accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Tracz slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hazard slaps away a takedown attempt from Tracz, before circling back to the center of the mat.
A jab lands there for Tracz.
Tracz shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hazard as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Janusz Tracz. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Tracz shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hazard is trying to defend but Tracz finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Tracz won't let Hazard get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Tracz takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Hazard wants to try and get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tracz closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Tracz lands in his opponent's guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Tracz has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Tracz feints and as Hazard raises his hands in defense, Tracz changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Hazard slaps away a takedown attempt from Tracz, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Tracz gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Hazard counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Nice uppercut lands for Tracz. That snapped Hazard's head back.
Tracz defending well as Hazard loads up on a big left hand.
Tracz feinted with a counter takedown.
Tracz is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hazard can do to turn this around?

Tracz throws a lazy right hand but Hazard sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

and Hazard counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Hazard takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Hazard takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Tracz misses with a straight right.
It seemed like Hazard was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Tracz drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tracz is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Hazard wants to stand but Tracz is controlling the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Janusz Tracz showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Tracz has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
