Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Santiago Gracie (ranked 6120 p4p, 238 weight class) and Daniel Subicic (ranked 5767 p4p, 230 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Santiago Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Daniel Subicic! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Franklyn Lucas and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sloppy strikes from Subicic. Those never looked like landing. Subicic looks to land a left hand but Gracie moved out of range nicely. Subicic looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Some wild striking there from Subicic.
Subicic throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Subicic as he jumps to the side. Subicic throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gracie. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Subicic misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Subicic swings for the body but Gracie moves out of range.
Gracie tries to counter with a takedown but Subicic is quick to defend against it. Subicic looks to score with a jab to the body but Gracie is just out of range. Gracie feinted with a counter takedown. Subicic swings and misses with a hook to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round. Subicic is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gracie. Gracie shoots in for a double leg but Subicic sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Subicic throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Gracie counters with a nice double leg into side control. Subicic won't be happy with that. Gracie is trying to get an arm triangle but Subicic is defending well. Subicic really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Gracie is staying tight to Subicic's torso, preventing him from escaping. Gracie is looking to take a break and control but Subicic is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Gracie looks up at the clock and then as Subicic takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Gracie smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie controlling the position from side mount. Gracie misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Subicic can do anything to dispel that myth. Gracie is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Subicic has escaped the position, nice work there. Gracie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Subicic keeps working. Gracie tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gracie has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Gracie looking to control but instead Subicic has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. Gracie prevents Subicic from standing back up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Gracie shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Subicic sprawls well. Subicic wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gracie gets slowly back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Daniel Subicic dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Nice takedown defense from Subicic. No joy for Gracie on that attempt. A little jabbing left from Subicic on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Gracie tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Subicic defends well and Gracie ends up having to push Subicic into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Subicic misses with a series of wild punches.

Gracie feinted with a counter takedown. Subicic takes a swing at Gracie's ribcage but misses. Subicic will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Gracie is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Subicic to keep the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Santiago Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gracie prevents Subicic from breaking the clinch. Gracie fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Subicic tries to sprawl but Gracie drives through with a takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Subicic pushes Gracie off looking to stand but Gracie dives back in and keeps control.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Gracie shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Subicic as he jumps to the side. Subicic tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gracie was well out of range. Poor timing from Subicic. The fighters circling - Subicic throws out the jab but it was never going to land. No joy there for Subicic, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Subicic keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gracie closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Subicic trying to remain calm as Gracie controls from the top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

As Subicic tries to get set, Gracie tries to push him back and clinch up but Subicic manages to avoid the attempt. Gracie fails in his attempt to clinch. Daniel Subicic seems to be getting the better of the standup. Gracie drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
