PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ben Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesus Christ (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jesus Christ was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Christ, pushing him back against the cage.
Jones landing knees to the head.


It looks like Jesus Christ has been cut.
Christ is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Christ is trying to drag Jones to the mat but Jones just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Jones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jones keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Ben Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jesus Christ.
Christ stuffs the takedown attempt from Jones. Jones gets slowly back to his feet.

Jones is pressed up against the cage. Christ has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Jones down to the mat. Jones avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Jones tries to clinch there but Christ circles away.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jones blocks a head kick by Christ.
Jones throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Christ on the side of the head.

and Christ counters with a single leg into guard. Jones didn't expect that.
Christ wanted to stand there but Jones had control of the position.
Christ landing with the ground and pound.
Jones has a closed guard, preventing Christ from standing up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Christ pushes down on Jones's leg and manages to get into half guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Christ lands a nice short elbow.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Christ is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Jones sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Jones makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Jones.
Christ stops Jones from standing up.

Ben Jones showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Jones has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
