Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joshua Brown (ranked 4628 p4p, 453 weight class) and Johnny Winkle (ranked 23489 p4p, 609 weight class). Brown comes to the cage accompanied by Hail Mary Tupac. Johnny Winkle is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Winkle to the ground. Brown is now in Winkle's guard.
Winkle is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Brown dives into side control.
Winkle is not content to let Brown control the position.
Winkle is trying to improve his position.
Brown looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Brown in side control, throwing shots but Winkle defends.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Winkle stops Brown from passing to mount.
Winkle really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brown. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Winkle is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Brown is controlling him well.

Brown unloads with some shots from mount but Winkle bucks and avoids them well.
Winkle tries to hold on but Brown pushes him away.
Winkle avoids a series of strikes thrown by Brown.

Winkle is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Brown has hold of Winkle's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Winkle manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Winkle wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Brown.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brown can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Winkle is looking to escape.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Brown wants to control the pace but Winkle is squirming around nicely.
Brown is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Winkle is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Brown has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Winkle's face.
Brown misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Brown tries for a takedown but Winkle sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Winkle misses with a wild body shot.
Brown shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Winkle but Winkle pushes him off and we're back to square one.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Brown is defended easily by Winkle.

Winkle leaves Brown with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Brown lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Brown is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Winkle has managed to free his arm - good work.

Brown uses his free foot to push down on Winkle's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Winkle.
Winkle wants to hold on but Brown pushes him away.
Brown with a couple of short strikes.
Winkle in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Brown has control of Winkle's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Winkle regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Brown looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Brown throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Winkle because Brown loaded up on that one.
BOOM! Brown connects with a massive shot to the dome!

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Brown avoids the attempt from Winkle to control.
