Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Felix Trinidad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathan Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nathan Burns is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Burns needs to keep his hands up - Trinidad had a free shot at his head there. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Trinidad!
Burns looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Trinidad is fending him off so far but Burns persists. Nope, Trinidad circles away and we're back to standing. Trinidad lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Trinidad.
It looks like Nathan Burns has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A head kick misses from Trinidad. Trinidad throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Trinidad is looking to break free of the clinch but Burns has double underhooks. Burns manages to break the clinch.
Burns shoots in and bounces Trinidad off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Trinidad knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Burns on the ground. Burns stopping the sweep attempt from Trinidad.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burns working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Trinidad wants to stand and escape but Burns is having none of it. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Burns accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Trinidad tries to land a sweep but no joy. Trinidad wants to stand but Burns is controlling the position. Burns seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Burns won't allow Trinidad to get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Trinidad misses with a few strikes there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Trinidad tries to bum rush Burns with a series of wild strikes but Burns uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Burns decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Still in half guard, Burns seems content to control. Burns missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Burns seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Burns not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Trinidad is looking to escape. Burns keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Trinidad has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Burns is working away from the top position though. Trinidad has hold of Burns's hands but Burns slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Burns is controlling the pace.
Trinidad is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Burns perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Despite being in the dominant position, Nathan Burns just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Trinidad throws a combination. Burns tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Some wild striking there from Trinidad.
Trinidad throws a right and a left that both miss. Burns misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Trinidad scores with a hook to the body. Burns takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Burns dodges the punch combination from Trinidad.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Trinidad wants to clinch but Burns slips to the side and Burns decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Trinidad's guard. Burns is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Trinidad keeping moving, preventing Burns from controlling successfully. Trinidad wants to sweep but no luck. Burns trying to control the position from guard on top but Trinidad is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Burns throwing strikes but missing. Burns postures up in Trinidad's guard and throws a big left but Trinidad blocks it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burns is stalling in the full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Let's hope that Burns has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Burns chips away with some ground and pound.

Burns's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Burns loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Trinidad wants to stand and escape but Burns is having none of it. Burns not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nathan Burns showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Nathan Burns's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Trinidad throws a leg kick but Burns checks it. Burns shoots in but Trinidad avoids the takedown attempt easily. Trinidad misses with a looping right. Trinidad lands a really nice looking cross but Burns seems unphased.
Felix Trinidad seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Burns. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. No luck for Burns with that takedown attempt. Felix Trinidad has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nathan Burns. A combination from Trinidad does no damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burns closes this distance looking for a takedown but Trinidad circles away. Trinidad throws a series of punches but Burns moves out of range. Trinidad darts in trying to clinch so Burns counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Burns seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Trinidad avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Burns wants to control from the top but Trinidad keeps moving. Nathan Burns has got the better of the ground game so far. Burns lands a couple of elbows. Burns has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Trinidad being controlled here, momentarily. Trinidad pushes Burns off and scrambles back to his feet.
Danga de danga de dang - Trinidad scores with a four punch combination! Burns closes the distance and clinches up with Trinidad, looking for a takedown. Burns pushes Trinidad against the cage but Trinidad circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Trinidad tries to clinch but Burns moves away and Burns counters with a takedown into side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Burns is putting a hurting on Trinidad here, landing some big shots from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Trinidad's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Burns advances to full mount. Burns takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Trinidad is looking to get to half guard. Burns is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Trinidad is surviving well by controlling Burns's body position as best he can. Burns tries to control but Trinidad wriggling away. Burns avoids the attempt from Trinidad to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Trinidad is looking to improve his position but Burns isn't that keen on the idea. Burns is working for a guillotine from mount but Trinidad frees his head quite easily.
Burns can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Trinidad is looking to escape. Trinidad tries to lock up and control but Burns gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Trinidad working to try and regain half guard.
Burns has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Trinidad's face.
And that's the end of the fight! Nathan Burns comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Burns has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
