Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thiago Assis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gareth May (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). May comes into a darkened arena with his song building. I- Black Sabbath kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Assis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts May as he jumps to the side. Assis shoots in looking for a takedown. May tries to sprawl out of it but Assis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. May manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. May looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. May prevents Assis from improving his position. May missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. May stalling. Assis trying to control but May postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. May is keen to just control but Assis is a slippery customer. May slows the pace down in half guard. May is looking to stall here but Assis recovers full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. May's corner is telling him to maintain position. Assis wants to stand up but May is controlling him. May content to stall in guard here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Assis is wriggling around but May manages to pass to half guard.
Assis has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. May is working away from the top position though. Assis wants to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. May throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. May is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Assis shoots in and drives through. May sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thiago Assis. That's going to take a lot out of him. May will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
May fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Assis wants to clinch up but May keeps it at a distance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gareth May dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Assis looks for a takedown but May sprawls well. Assis tries to close the distance and clinch up but May swats him away and circles back towards the center. May moves in looking to clinch but Assis pushes him off. Thiago Assis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Assis darts in trying to clinch and May counters with a low kick, right behind Assis 's knee. May bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Assis tries to clinch but May moves out of range. Assis wants to clinch but May slips to the side and May counters with a stiff right hand. Assis shoots for a double leg takedown but May sprawls well. He's pushed Assis's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Assis wants to clinch but May slips to the side and May counters with a lovely straight right hand! May throws a head kick but Assis moves out of range.
Assis tries to grapple but his opponent circles and May counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
That's one minute gone in the round. A jab lands there for May. Assis tries to clinch up but May circles away and keeps his distance. May throws a wild combination but nothing lands. May tries for a takedown but Assis sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. May pushes Assis up against the cage in a clinch. Assis misses with a knee to the head. Assis prevents a takedown attempt there.
May is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. May is breathing heavily. Assis landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Assis throws a knee to the head but misses.
Assis lands a damaging elbow. Assis misses with a knee strike.
Assis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Assis closes the distance looking to clinch and May counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Assis tries to roll over but May keeps him under control. Assis controlling the position well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Assis looking for submissions off his back. May passes to full mount! May throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Assis tries to lock up and control but May gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Assis manages to control the position for a moment. May throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gareth May showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Assis doesn't succeed with the takedown and May counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Assis tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but May paws at him with a jab and circles away. May avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
May will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Assis shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and May counters with a leg kick. Assis is looking to clinch. Assis tries to grapple but his opponent circles and May counters with a series of strikes. Assis will be more careful next time no doubt. May throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Assis has his takedown stuffed so May counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thiago Assis. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Assis wants to stand and escape but May is having none of it. May is stalling in the full guard. Let's hope that May has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. May has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Assis is proving hard to escape from.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Assis is trying to keep May in close.
May wants to control from the top but Assis keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Assis is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Assis clinches but May breaks the clinch and May counters with a shoot takedown. Assis fights it but they end up in guard. Gareth May is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Assis is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Assis looking to control.
May must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's four minutes gone in the round. May stops Assis from standing up. Thiago Assis has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! May stands and steps away. Assis gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Assis blocks a head kick by May.

And that's the end of the fight! Gareth May comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got May winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
