Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Blood (ranked 6373 p4p, 454 weight class) and Thaddeus Matthews (ranked 4190 p4p, 367 weight class). Blood comes into the arena with Raining Blood - Slayer blaring out of the sound system. Matthews has chosen Der Meister as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Jack Blood has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Jack Blood seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The judges for this bout are William Gold, Paul Tew and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Blood is defended easily by Matthews.
Blood looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Matthews feints and as Blood raises his hands in defense, Matthews changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Matthews loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Matthews trying to control but Blood is working from the bottom.
Matthews has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Cozad MMA Rio. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Blood is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Blood controls Matthews momentarily but Matthews frees himself.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Matthews is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Blood has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Matthews is looking to defend but Blood has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Matthews! Blood pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Matthews taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Jack Blood!
A relieved looking Jack Blood thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
