Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Romello Ramirez!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Ben Hemmingworth and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Martin tries to keep at a distance but Ramirez has taken the fight into the clinch.
Ramirez prevents a body shot from Martin.
Martin has a couple of punches blocked by Ramirez.
Martin misses with a hook from the clinch.

Martin's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Martin is looking to chop away at Ramirez's legs.
Martin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Some wild striking there from Martin.

Ramirez instigates a clinch.
Ramirez has Martin pressed against the cage, preventing Martin from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ramirez can't find room to land a body shot as Martin controls the action.

Martin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ramirez fails to land the takedown.
Martin throws a right and a left that Ramirez avoids nicely.
A looping hook to the body misses from Martin. Ramirez does a little dance to reset his feet.

Martin shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Martin showed some decent athleticism there.

Ramirez kicks off Martin and gets to his feet.
Martin scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Ramirez takes the fight into the clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Martin breaks from the clinch.
Martin paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Ramirez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Martin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ramirez somewhat.
Martin lands a jab.

Ramirez takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Mitch Martin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Martin throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Ramirez moves into the clinch successfully.
Ramirez tries to pull guard but Martin holds him up against the cage and eventually Ramirez drops back down to his feet.
Mitch Martin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Romello Ramirez.
Ramirez lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Martin or not.

Martin manages to break the clinch.
Ramirez moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Martin lands a nice shot to the body.
Ramirez darts in looking for a takedown but Martin gets double underhooks and turns Ramirez into the cage.
Martin attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Ramirez looks for a takedown but Martin sprawls well.
Ramirez looks winded!
Ramirez fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Martin misses with a series of wild punches.

Ramirez takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Ramirez takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Martin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ramirez changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
A looping hook to the body misses from Martin. Ramirez does a little dance to reset his feet.
Martin connects with a body shot.
Ramirez takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Martin misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Good exchange - Martin coming out on top.
Ramirez takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Martin connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Martin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ramirez.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Martin fails with a takedown attempt.
Martin jabs at Ramirez's body.
A nice combination there by Martin.
Martin lands a body shot.
Martin catches Ramirez with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Ramirez gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Martin.
Martin bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.


Ramirez is rocked!
Martin plants his feet and throws a brutal three punch combo that sends Ramirez swiftly into unconsciousness! Right, left, right! Boom, boom, boom! Ramirez face plants, battered and bloodied! He might never be the same again after that finish!
