Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ground Day! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Gacy! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Anni Minnemäki and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Day throws a lazy right hand but Gacy sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Gacy lands a nice looking body shot.
Gacy fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Day tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gacy swivels and escapes. Ground Day seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Day drives through and clinches with Gacy against the cage.
We've been hearing reports that Day has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Gacy prevents a takedown attempt there.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Day. Still in the clinch, Gacy scores with a nice short uppercut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gacy feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Day sprawling to the canvas! Day rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Gacy finish him?!

It looks like Ground Day has been cut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gacy throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Day glances at the clock... BAM! Gacy nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Day crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Day is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). John Gacy! In his post fight interview, John Gacy gave a big smile as he said 'He never had a chance, I took his heart, he should retire after that ass whoopin.'.
