Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vasylis Tryfon (ranked 2372 p4p, 119 weight class) and Mitsugu Takeishi (ranked 1953 p4p, 100 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Mitsugu Takeishi was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vasylis Tryfon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mitsugu Takeishi!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Matti Vanhoillinen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tryfon tries to clinch up
and Takeishi counters with a nice uppercut.
Takeishi connects with the punch.
Nice straight punches there by Takeishi. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Takeishi.
Takeishi ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Takeishi lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Tryfon shoots in looking for a takedown. Takeishi tries to sprawl out of it but Tryfon keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Takeishi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Takeishi lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Tryfon at a distance.
Takeishi scores with a decent looking hook.
Tryfon moves to clinch but Takeishi breaks away
and Takeishi connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tryfon doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Takeishi counters with a crisp right hand that drops Tryfon! Takeishi lets Tryfon back up to his feet, looking for a finish!


It looks like Vasylis Tryfon has been cut.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vasylis Tryfon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Takeishi drops Tryfon with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Tryfon looks back up at him and smiles so Takeishi waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


Tryfon is rocked!
Takeishi scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Tryfon doesn't seem bothered though.
Takeishi lands with a shot to the body.
Takeishi connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Tryfon takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Tryfon is breathing heavily.
Takeishi lands an uppercut, right on the button! Tryfon tumbles backwards into the cage, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mitsugu Takeishi!
Mitsugu Takeishi decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
