Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Jr is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Jr wants to clinch. Pettis feinted with a counter takedown. Jr tries to close the distance and clinch but Pettis swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jr wants to clinch up but Pettis keeps it at a distance. Pettis tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Jr manages to circle out of the way. Pettis keeps the fight on the outside. That's one minute gone in the round. Jr closes the distance and clinches. Pettis goes for a takedown attempt but Jr pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jr looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Pettis feinted with a counter takedown. Jr tries to clinch and Pettis counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jr won't be happy with that. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Pettis is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Jr is trying to escape and Pettis transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Jr is forced to tap! Nice work there by Pettis! Very nice indeed!
