Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Bailey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Baron Geisler! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Chad Campbell and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bailey scores with a hook to the body. Geisler takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Bailey throws a combination that misses and Geisler moves into the clinch. Geisler misses with the head strike.
Geisler is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Bailey is keeping busy. Geisler lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Geisler doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Bailey blocking some punches.
Geisler misses with some punches.
Both fighters working to control the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bailey drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Geisler gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Bailey breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Geisler throws a right hand that Bailey ducks under and follows up with a left that Bailey also avoids with ease.

The fight stays on the outside here - Geisler looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Bailey connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Geisler falls off balance throwing a combination
and Bailey counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Geisler thinking. Joe Bailey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bailey ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Geisler fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bailey manages to avoid it. Geisler walks into a jab. Bailey fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Geisler is out of range. Bailey has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Geisler misses with a straight right. A counter left hand to the body from Bailey misses its target. Geisler lands a right hook to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nice jab there from Bailey.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Geisler uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bailey. Bailey throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Geisler fails with an attempt to clinch.
Geisler throws a hook but Bailey blocks it. Geisler thows a left - swing and a miss! Geisler misses with a straight left. A slow jab from Bailey misses its intended target. Bailey misses with a head kick.
Bailey moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Bailey throws a chopping leg kick but Geisler manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Geisler tries to clinch but Bailey moves out of range. Geisler tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bailey swats him away and circles back towards the center. Geisler checks a leg kick. Bailey throws a left and a right that both miss
and Geisler counters by moving into the clinch. Geisler fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Bailey blocks a punch to the side of the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Geisler misses with a short punch on the inside. Geisler tries to land knees in the clinch but Bailey avoids the damage to the body. Both guys are working to get underhooks. A head punch blocked on the inside by Bailey. Bailey tries to pull guard but Geisler won't allow it.
Geisler lands with a light punch inside. Bailey is looking to break free of the clinch but Geisler has double underhooks. Bailey turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Bailey manages to end up in side control. Geisler being controlled for a moment. Geisler tries to buck Bailey off but Bailey is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Geisler is being controlled here. A control attempt from Geisler but he's now mounted! Geisler is trying to escape the mount.
Bailey lands a big elbow. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Bailey dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Bailey lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Geisler circles away quickly and effectively. Geisler tries to counter with a clinch but Bailey shakes him off and moves away. Bailey misses the shot to the body. Bailey is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Geisler can do to turn this around? Bailey looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Geisler takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Geisler tries to counter with a clinch but Bailey shakes him off and moves away. Geisler fails with an attempt to clinch.
Bailey circles away from the clinch attempt and Bailey counters with a right hand to the body. Bailey wants to land a leg kick but Geisler is out of range. Geisler throws a right and a left that Bailey avoids nicely. Geisler looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Bailey lunges at Geisler with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Geisler's hand. Bailey misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Geisler! But no joy.

and Bailey moves into the clinch. Geisler tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Bailey's elbow. Geisler tries a body shot but Bailey blocks it.

Bailey blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Geisler avoiding damage.
Bailey escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Bailey throws a right and a left that Geisler avoids nicely. Nice jab there from Bailey. Bailey keeps the fight on the outside. As Geisler tries to get set, Bailey tries to push him back and clinch up but Geisler manages to avoid the attempt. Geisler is looking to clinch but Bailey is avoiding it.

That's one minute gone in the round. Bailey scores with a shot to the side of Geisler's head. Bailey is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Bailey is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Geisler is defending well for now. Geisler misses with a punch on the inside.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Geisler keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Bailey on the wrong end of a nice hook. Joe Bailey is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Bailey avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Bailey thuds a left hand into Geisler's body. Geisler fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Bailey on the side of the head. Bailey uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Geisler. Geisler throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. A left lands for Bailey. Baron Geisler has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Bailey moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Geisler throws a nice looking combination but Bailey bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Bailey misses with a few strikes there.

Geisler looks to land a left hand but Bailey moved out of range nicely. Bailey walks into a stiff left hand from Geisler. That's four minutes gone in the round. Geisler gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Geisler steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Bailey. That one must have hurt. Geisler moves out of range of the body kick. Geisler misses with an uppercut. Bailey lands with an uppercut that bounces Geisler off the cage and back into range. Bailey swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Joe Bailey is winning the standup battle so far. Geisler's jab looks to have found its range, popping Bailey under the eye. Bailey dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Bailey fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Geisler looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Bailey tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Geisler was well out of range. Poor timing from Bailey. Bailey swinging wildly here.

And that's the end of the fight! Joe Bailey showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bailey, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
