Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jamar Wall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Abdull Tarik! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Marco Blurström and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wall gets tackled into the cage by Tarik. Tarik maintains the clinch. Tarik drags the fight down to the ground.
Wall is looking to work some ground and pound but Tarik has wrist control. Wall might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Tarik working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Wall. Wall working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Wall would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Wall could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Wall with a flurry of punches that miss. Wall trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Wall trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Tarik is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tarik is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Tarik is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tarik takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Tarik is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Wall manages to get to full guard. Tarik is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tarik accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Wall avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Wall looking to control.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tarik tries to free his leg and advance position but Wall is retaining full guard. Tarik controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Abdull Tarik seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tarik shoots for a double leg takedown but Wall sprawls well. He's pushed Tarik's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Tarik shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wall sprawls well. Wall wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Tarik gets slowly back to his feet. Wall is looking to counter the offense by Tarik and move into the clinch. Tarik shoots in but Wall avoids the takedown attempt easily. Jamar Wall has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Abdull Tarik. Tarik throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tarik swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Wall seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Tarik tries to close the distance and clinch but Wall swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Wall appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Wall checks the leg kick. Wall seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Tarik shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Wall defends it nicely. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Tarik lands with a shot to the body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Abdull Tarik dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Tarik dives in for a single leg takedown but Wall sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Wall throws a big counter combination but Tarik scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Tarik misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Wall has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Tarik. Tarik instigates a clinch. Tarik is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Wall to keep the fight standing. Jamar Wall has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Abdull Tarik. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tarik misses with an elbow strike.

That's one minute gone in the round. Wall jumps guard but Tarik stands there with Wall around his waist. Wall gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Tarik escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Some bone on bone action there as Wall checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Wall is looking to counter the offense by Tarik and move into the clinch. Crunch! Tarik slams his shin into Wall's torso. Tarik throws a wild body kick that Wall sees coming a mile off. Tarik shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Wall as he avoids it easily. Wall gets tackled into the cage by Tarik. Tarik maintains the clinch. Wall tries to throw a body punch but Tarik avoids it by throwing Wall back against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tarik gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Wall.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Wall jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Tarik walks away with a smile on his face. Wall gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Wall changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tarik tries to avoid it but Wall manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tarik to the ground. Tarik escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Tarik drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Wall defends it well. Wall will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jamar Wall is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Tarik shoots in for a takedown but Wall shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Wall displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Tarik.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tarik fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Wall avoids it really well and circles away. Wall tries to counter with a takedown but Tarik is quick to defend against it. Tarik is breathing heavily. Wall shoots in looking for a takedown but Tarik manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Wall's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Tarik moves away from the strike by Wall. Tarik misses with a takedown attempt and Wall counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Tarik fails with the takedown and Wall counters with a two punch combo.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wall drives through and clinches with Tarik against the cage.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Tarik is defended easily by Wall. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Abdull Tarik will probably get the nod - 10:9. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Tarik closes this distance looking for a takedown but Wall circles away. Wall doesn't succeed with the takedown and Tarik counters with a head kick. That will keep Wall thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Tarik leaves Wall with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Tarik shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Wall counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tarik throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Wall tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Tarik defends well and Wall ends up having to push Tarik into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jamar Wall. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tarik shoots for a takedown but Wall saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Tarik takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Wall looks to score with a jab to the body but Tarik is just out of range. A looping hook to the body misses from Tarik. Wall does a little dance to reset his feet. Jamar Wall is winning the standup battle so far. Wall stuffs the takedown attempt from Tarik. Tarik gets slowly back to his feet. Tarik scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Tarik has managed to clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Tarik tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Tarik is trying to pull guard but Wall has him pressed against the cage. Wall decides to pull guard. Wall wants to stand but Tarik is controlling the position. Wall tries to land a sweep but no joy. Tarik wants to control from the top but Wall keeps moving.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Wall trying to keep a closed guard but Tarik is proving a slippery customer.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Tarik with a poor takedown and Wall holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Wall wants the takedown. Tarik is fighting it off but Wall persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Tarik's guard against the cage. Wall stands and steps away. Tarik gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. A left and a right from Wall both land. Nice combination.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wall keeps the fight on the outside. Tarik avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Tarik tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Wall counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Tarik thinking. Wall shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tarik but Tarik pushes him off and we're back to square one. Jamar Wall has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Abdull Tarik is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Tarik tries to score a power double leg takedown but Wall sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tarik somewhat.
And that's the end of the fight! Jamar Wall showed his dominance in that final round. I think Tarik has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
