Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Scott Page (ranked 2350 p4p, 0 weight class) and The Steel Penn (ranked 2777 p4p, 0 weight class). Page comes to the cage accompanied by Suspicious Minds. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Scott Page!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, The Steel Penn!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Roger Salmon and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Page scores with a push kick.
Page falls off balance throwing a combination
and Steel Penn counters with an outside leg kick.
Page tries to close the distance and clinch but Steel Penn swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Page misses with a double jab

and Steel Penn counters by clinching up.
Page tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Steel Penn smiles and moves away.
Steel Penn tried to score with a low kick but Page checks it.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Page.
Steel Penn is trying to control Page's posture but Page avoids it.
Steel Penn trying to control but Page flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!

Steel Penn just trying to survive but Page is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Steel Penn tries to escape the position.
Steel Penn breaks Page's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Page will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Page not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Steel Penn wants to control from the top but Page keeps moving.
Page really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Page is on top in guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Page tests Steel Penn's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Page seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Page lands a nice leg kick that just misses Steel Penn's sensitive parts.

Page tries to clinch up but Steel Penn circles away and keeps his distance.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Page is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Steel Penn's half guard.
Steel Penn is trying to maintain the position but Page is very close to passing his half guard.
Steel Penn moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Page is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Steel Penn can do to turn this around?

Page decides to stand up, so the ref orders Steel Penn to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Page is looking to clinch but Steel Penn is avoiding it.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Steel Penn lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Page has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Page and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

and Page counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Steel Penn closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Steel Penn lands in his opponent's guard.

Page has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Steel Penn is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Page.

Steel Penn swings around for an armbar but Page sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Steel Penn's guard.

Steel Penn bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Page's guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Page working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Steel Penn doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Steel Penn manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Page wants to sweep here but Steel Penn controlling him for the moment.

Page is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Steel Penn defends well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Page slips a straight right by Steel Penn.
Scott Page is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Page throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Steel Penn on the side of the head.
Page scores with a jab to the jaw.
Steel Penn dives in for a single leg takedown but Page sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Page seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Steel Penn throws a jab when Page was well out of range.
Page uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Steel Penn.
Good leg kick by Page there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A bone on bone clash there as Page blocks the leg kick.

Page feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Page throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Steel Penn is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Page's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Page's back!

Steel Penn breaks from Page's wrist control and lands an elbow.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Scott Page.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Page, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
