Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Henry Homes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Galen Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Homes but Homes pushes him off and we're back to square one. Homes keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Homes really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Jones fails with an attempt to clinch.
Homes tries to clinch there but Jones circles away.
Jones shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Homes pinned against the cage. Homes gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Henry Homes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Galen Jones. Jones shoots in but Homes avoids the takedown attempt easily. Homes stuffs the takedown attempt from Jones. Jones gets slowly back to his feet. Homes keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Jones gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Jones looks gassed! Jones keeping full guard, as Homes tries to pass. Jones keeping moving, preventing Homes from controlling successfully. Homes is really struggling to control Jones but he's trying to hold on to the position. Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Homes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Homes is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Homes is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Homes will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Jones is trying to keep Homes in close.
Jones has a closed guard, preventing Homes from standing up. Homes gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Jones shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Homes counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Jones is lucky that one didn't land flush. Galen Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A nice combination there by Homes.

Homes wants to finish this one by submission but Jones is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Homes. Jones tries to reverse the position but Homes maintains control. Homes wants to control the pace but Jones is squirming around nicely. Homes landing strikes, looking to finish! Jones has given up his back here.

Jones is trapped and Homes is scoring with shots to the head and body. Homes working for a choke but Jones is defending well. The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Homes's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Homes missing with strikes from the back. Homes trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Homes lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Jones hold on?!
Jones covering up well under a barage of strikes. Jones rolls, trying to escape but Homes keeps control of the position.
Homes controls the action. Homes is looking to control Jones but Jones is wriggling around and keeping busy. Homes has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Even with his hooks in, Homes manages to miss with strikes from the back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Homes landing with strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Homes decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Homes throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Homes is looking to take a break and control but Jones is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Jones is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Homes wants to get back to his feet.
Homes escapes and gets back to his feet. Jones is breathing heavily. Homes throws a leg kick which misses Jones's front leg but catches the back leg as Jones tries to avoid it. Jones misses with a takedown and Homes counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Jones wants to get back to full guard. Homes is looking to take a break and control but Jones is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Henry Homes just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Jones misses with a takedown attempt and Homes decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jones's guard. Homes stopping the sweep attempt from Jones. Jones is controlling Homes's posture.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Jones doesn't succeed with the takedown and Homes counters with a flying knee. Nice. Homes decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Homes perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Jones is refusing to be controlled, as Homes sits in half guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jones can do anything to dispel that myth. Jones wants to get back to full guard. Homes wants to free his trapped foot but Jones is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Jones keeping moving, preventing Homes from controlling successfully. Homes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard. Jones looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Jones has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Homes can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Jones tries to land a sweep but no joy. Homes trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom. Homes trying to stand up but can't free himself from Jones's guard. Galen Jones has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Jones gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Homes counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Nice sprawl there from Jones as Homes shoots in. Homes fails in his attempt to clinch. Homes closes the distance and clinches. Homes jumps into guard, dragging Jones to the mat.
Homes looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jones is one step ahead there. Jones must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Homes looking to control.

Jones is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Jones is squirming around, avoiding Homes's attempts to control the action. Jones can't escape the position.

And that's the end of the fight! Henry Homes showed his dominance in that final round. Well Homes has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
