Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Head Coach (ranked 2928 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joel Vazquez (ranked 6523 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Joel Vazquez was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
30 - 23 - 3, fighting out of London, Head Coach! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joel Vazquez! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Colin Fotheringham and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Coach moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
It looks like Joel Vazquez has been cut. Vazquez is trying hard to land a takedown here. Coach sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Coach has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Coach fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Vazquez looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Coach jabs Vazquez right on the nose. Vazquez blinks but takes it well. Vazquez takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Vazquez throws a head kick that misses and Coach counters with a nice uppercut.
Vazquez is rocked! Coach keeps Vazquez at a distance using the push kick. Vazquez is still on wobbly legs! Can Coach finish him? Vazquez darts in looking for a takedown but Coach gets double underhooks and turns Vazquez into the cage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Crunch! Coach slams his shin into Vazquez's torso. Vazquez seems to have recovered his senses. Vazquez looks winded! Coach scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Vazquez takes a shot right to the bread basket. Coach cracks Vazquez with a big right hand and Vazquez goes down! Coach pushing down on Vazquez's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Coach sitting and controlling from the half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Coach continues to stall. More hug and hope from Coach. Vazquez missing with punches from the bottom.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Vazquez wants to control but Coach is keeping busy and won't allow it. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Vazquez can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Vazquez is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Coach throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Vazquez stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Vazquez fails with a takedown attempt. Head Coach has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joel Vazquez. Coach comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Vazquez walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Vazquez fails to land the takedown. Vazquez gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Coach points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Vazquez wakes up just in time to hear Coach thank his coaches in the post fight interview.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Head Coach! A less than humble Head Coach misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
