These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tim Cahill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Benjamin Mostert!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Bruno Hogan and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mostert misses with a few strikes there.
Mostert tries to clinch but Cahill is having none of it.
Cahill wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
We've been hearing reports that Cahill has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Mostert clinches up with Cahill and pushes him back against the cage.
Mostert misses with a punch on the inside.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Mostert.
Mostert has Cahill pressed against the cage.

Cahill has hold of one of Mostert's legs. Mostert is fighting the takedown attempt but Cahill gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cahill pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mostert is keeping the position for now.
Mostert really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cahill. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Cahill works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Mostert felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Cahill moves into full mount! Mostert won't be happy about that!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cahill is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Mostert is in real trouble.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cahill is persistently looking for the submission but Mostert is defending it well.

Cahill has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

Mostert is trying to get back to his feet but Cahill has full control of the position and if anything, Mostert has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Cahill is cranking Mostert's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Mostert! He's tightened the choke and Mostert is tapping out!
