Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sean Benoit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladislav Kashkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sean Benoit!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vladislav Kashkin!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benoit throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Benoit lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Benoit throws a quick inside leg kick.

Benoit gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Kashkin looking to sit in guard and control but Benoit gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Kashkin wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Benoit tries to stand but Kashkin is controlling from the bottom.
Kashkin is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kashkin has a closed guard, preventing Benoit from standing up.
Kashkin is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Benoit wants to stand but Kashkin is controlling his posture from full guard.
Kashkin looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Benoit puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Benoit postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Kashkin to stand up.
Sean Benoit is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Nice uppercut there from Benoit.
Kashkin tries to close the distance and clinch but Benoit swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Benoit pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Kashkin shoots in and bounces Benoit off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Kashkin trying to control but Benoit is working from the bottom.

Benoit is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kashkin is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kashkin slips nicely into half guard.
Kashkin not doing much here.

Benoit is defending against the submission attempts here by Kashkin.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kashkin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Benoit keeps working.

Kashkin is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Benoit is trying to stand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Sean Benoit will probably get the nod.
That's time! Benoit's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Benoit throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Benoit attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Kashkin is looking to clinch.
Kashkin tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Benoit stalks Kashkin and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Kashkin's face. Kashkin staggers backwards, shaken.

Kashkin moves into the clinch.

Benoit's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kashkin slips a jab and a cross from Benoit.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Benoit misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kashkin.
Benoit stuffs the takedown.
Kashkin tries to clinch up but Benoit circles away and keeps his distance.
Kashkin shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Benoit as he avoids it easily.

A shot to de liver by Benoit. Beautiful body shot.
Kashkin tries to clinch but Benoit moves out of range.
Benoit throws a quick inside leg kick.
Sean Benoit is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Benoit misses with an attempted mid kick.
Kashkin gets cracked there but stands up to it.


It looks like Vladislav Kashkin has been cut.
Benoit swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Benoit scores with a body shot.
Benoit swings for the body but Kashkin moves out of range.
Kashkin tries to clinch up.
Benoit lands with a nice combination. Kashkin backs away looking to recover.
A punch lands to the side of Kashkin 's head but he takes it in his stride.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kashkin uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Benoit.
Benoit misses with a few strikes there.
Vladislav Kashkin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Benoit throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kashkin stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
The crowd cheers as Benoit lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kashkin doesn't seem phased though.
Benoit does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Benoit fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Kashkin on the side of the head.
Benoit swings for the body but Kashkin moves out of range.
Kashkin gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Kashkin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Benoit paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Benoit is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Benoit lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.


Kashkin is rocked!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kashkin walks straight into a right hand from Benoit - that's dropped him! Benoit jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Kashkin from any more punishment! Kashkin complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:08 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Sean Benoit!
Sean Benoit retains his welterweight title!
