Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Carlos Lott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Josh Koshua!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paul Aken and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick by Koshua misses
and Lott counters with an outside leg kick.
Koshua shoots for a double leg takedown but Lott sprawls well. He's pushed Koshua's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Lott throws a quick counter kick to the body but Koshua avoids it.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Koshua is defended easily by Lott.
Lott lands with a cross.
Lott really is a fat lump.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Koshua takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Koshua tries to close the distance and clinch but Lott swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Lott shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Lott tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Koshua is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lott is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Koshua has managed to free his arm - good work.
Koshua moves into full guard.
Koshua really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lott. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Koshua is looking to sweep but instead, Lott has passed into half guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Lott is working for a kimura but Koshua is defending it quite comfortably.

Lott decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Koshua is looking to clinch.
Koshua shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lott sprawls well. Lott wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Koshua gets slowly back to his feet.
Lott throws a counter high kick but Koshua was just alert enough to avoid it.

Lott slaps away a takedown attempt from Koshua, before circling back to the center of the mat.
It looked like Lott was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Lott stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Koshua.

Lott shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Lott was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Lott ducks right into an uppercut from Koshua.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Koshua fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lott, pushing him back against the cage.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Koshua fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lott avoids it really well and circles away.
Koshua fails with an attempt to clinch.
Koshua shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lott but Lott pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Koshua shoots in looking for a takedown. Lott tries to sprawl out of it but Koshua keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lott manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Lott shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Koshua's guard.

Carlos Lott overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Koshua closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Lott bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Lott fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Koshua sprawls well initially but Lott persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Lott throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Koshua was covering up waiting for the punch and Lott finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Lott is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Lott escapes and gets back to his feet.

Lott shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lott showed some decent athleticism there.
Lott is thwarting Koshua's attempts to control the position.

Lott closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Koshua's guard.
Koshua wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Lott manages to pass to side control.

Koshua gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Lott to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Lott throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Koshua tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lott is in Koshua's guard.

Lott drops back looking for a leg! Koshua is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Koshua manages to kick Lott off! Lott jumps back into Koshua's guard.

letting Lott counter with a right hand.
Lott scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
