Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Leonard Mcgee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Cal Ortiz!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shigeki Sano and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ortiz goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Mcgee misses with a takedown
and Ortiz cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Ortiz scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
A slapping leg kick lands for Ortiz.

Mcgee rushes Ortiz and presses him up against the cage.

Mcgee escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Mcgee moves into range and clinches up with Ortiz.
Ortiz is trying to break the clinch but Mcgee is controlling him.
Ortiz is trying to push Mcgee away but Mcgee has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mcgee turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Mcgee manages to end up in side control.
Ortiz is looking to get back to his feet here but Mcgee is keeping cool and he's managed to take Ortiz's back.
Mcgee will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Ortiz is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Mcgee's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

I really don't envy Ortiz right now.

Mcgee has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Mcgee looking to break Ortiz's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Ortiz remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Mcgee will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mcgee, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
